Sgt Frog Season 3 Part 1

Not the love child of Kermit the Frog and Miss Piggy. Sgt. Frog darkens the sky's of Japan and mankind to conquer the world. Good thing he's an idiot.

If you don't know Sgt. Frog or missed the previous two season your in luck. The show starts off slow and  reintroduces characters. It goes through kind of a restart so you learn the goals of our space frogs. What's stayed the same is pop-culture quips and bizarre stories only Sgt. Frog could generate.

Strangely the first few episodes focus on Keroro, Tamama and Kululu, why no idea? The new theme songs at the start and end are strange takes with lyrics, "Many people think the Japanese are depressing? Let's change that!" or something like that or the ending theme's , "The reason is didn't work is because you're a boy". Just from the songs you know it's time for nonsense and hijinks only multi-colored frogs from space can offer.

Muppet jokes abound as Sgt Frog dialogue never falter to entertain. You"ll be laughing not only at pop-culture, but how the frogs see themselves. Sgt. Keroro's constant barrage of greatness and self-worth trickles out of his moth at all times. Dororo feels left out and alone or forgotten and breaks down at the slightest thought or memory of the past. Tamama, Tamama is crazy yo. One second cute, the next second a crazy lunatic.

Favorite episodes from part one:

-Keroro fills the house with breathable water, a barrier keeps it from leaving when the doors open. Everybody comes by for a pool party! This is just a cool concept, imagine just being able to float around your house in your bathing suit. Swimsuit fan service!

-Everyone becomes giant via a spoon except Dororo. You learn the downside to becoming a giant monster or superhero that fights said giant monsters.

-Wacky races style race where everyone gets shrunk down in the Hinata household

-Fuyuki is changed into little kid version of himself and is a better conqueror then Keroro, the Armpit Platoon rides robotic carp.

-Sgt Frog makes fun of all other cops shows

So many more episodes. So many more points of clear stupidity. Plans taken over the earth from space monster washing machines to vending machines the pump you full of soda. I still have no idea why Cartoon Network or other channel's pass this show up. I guess that's why Funimation keeps asking people to call their cable providers for the Funimation channel.

The only downside might be that it's just part one. I don't know why Funimation splits it in half. It won't be a long wait,  Season 3 Part 2 will be out by the end of this month.

If you want to laugh and been waiting for Sgt Frog to return it finally has. More crazy antics, nonsense and making fun of Japanese culture and our pop-culture from outer space frogs for one of the best anime comedies you can buy dubbed.
