Burning Godzilla and Derp Godzilla Shirts & Marvel Rivals: Galactic Tunes

The intestine off of this Godzilla shirt from Cavity Colors is striking hot. You can feel Godzilla's anger. No wonder it goes by simply "Burning Godzilla."

In what is almost a joke, we have a derpy version of the same shirt a Godzilla that might need to have googly eyes from Fright Rags. Dubbed the "Vintage Halloween Ringer Tee ," it makes Godzilla look more like a joke than a threat.

Marvel Rivals: Galactic Tunes - Original Video Game Soundtrack is out Feb 7th and if you like the game and Galacta you might want to grab it from Mutant, the new label from the people who created and used to be in charge of Mondo.

Universal Fan Fest Nights, Are What Exactly?

Hoo boy, how do we explain this one? Tickets just went on sale for Universal Fan Fest Nights.

Update: Multiple themes based on a well known movies, series, video/games or animes converge at night at Universal for these events. You get to experience a special nights revolving around all of those things if you pay up.

Good examples or close approximations would be how Universal transforms for Horror Nights. With different themed mazes. Then, there's stuff we've shown you from Disney's California Adventure and Japan theme parks where they change it up a bit and have specially themed characters show up. For Disney they have Marvel super heroes walking around and doing stunts. Japanese parks seems to change it up every year and bring characters and attractions from anime out more and have a ride based on their work for a limited time.

Each fan event seems like it'll last three nights, so enough people can try it out and there's quite a lot of diversity among fan interests. What's most interesting is not everything here is owned by Universal. A lot of this worlds are from different corporations. Hmmm, we guess similar to licensing the horror themed mazes.

Anyway, here's the different themes or fandoms and what they say you'll be doing via the press release:

  • Star Trek: Red Alert—Inspired by the Star Trek universe that has entertained millions of
fans, this daring walk-through experience will boldly take guests on an immersive adventure aboard the U.S.S. Enterprise NCC-1701-D on a mission to prevent an interstellar threat. Guests will find themselves transported to the year 2403, just as an otherworldly entity wreaks havoc on the ship. As the chaos ensues, guests will venture further into the Enterprise, navigating familiar Star Trek environments, from the ship’s engineering room to transporter pads, to the soul of the Starship Enterprise, the bridge—an original set piece featured in the third and final season of Star Trek: Picard—in a desperate quest to stop the perceived danger and restore peace aboard the ship. Laden with special effects, audio-visual effects, multi-sensory activations and themed performers, this all-original experience will create an unforgettable, awe-inspiring moment that will elevate Star Trek fandom to new levels.
  • Back to the Future: Destination Hill Valley—This nostalgic experience is based on the 1985 Back to the Future blockbuster movie and invites guests to time travel back to 1955 Hill Valley alongside the film’s iconic characters. Time travel begins the moment guests climb aboard the Studio Tour “Fan Tram” and venture towards Courthouse Square, the original filming location for this classic film located on the Universal Studios world famous backlot. Brimming with authenticity, Back to the Future: Destination Hill Valley will pay homage to this groundbreaking film by inserting guests into many familiar scenes with iconic props. From Hill Valley with the original Lyon Estate monuments to the Time Machine on display, guests will have the sensation of going back in time as they partake in the energetic recreation of the Enchantment Under the Sea dance and Hill Valley Festival plus experience a stunning recreation of the Clock Tower lightning strike, sending Marty back to the future multiple times each event night.
  • DUNGEONS & DRAGONS: Secrets of Waterdeep—Inspired by the World’s Greatest Roleplaying Game™, DUNGEONS & DRAGONS (D&D), this epic experience will welcome guests and fans to partake in a one-of-a-kind adventure and explore the fantastic world of D&D. Guests will join the Harpers—a heroic spy network—to foil a plot by the legendary beholder Xanathar and save the city of Waterdeep. In creating this unique experience, Universal Studios Hollywood is collaborating with Jim Henson’s Creature Shop to create the legendary beholder Xanathar that will come to life within DUNGEONS & DRAGONS: Secrets of Waterdeep. For over 40 years, Jim Henson’s Creature Shop has been a world-renowned innovator in puppetry, animatronics and digital animation.
  • One Piece: Grand Pirate Gathering—This unique experience is inspired by the long-running global hit anime series, One Piece, from creator Eiichiro Oda, that follows the adventures of Monkey D. Luffy and his Straw Hat Crew, including Zoro, Nami, Usopp and Sanji, on their quest to find “One Piece,” the legendary treasure of the former King of the Pirates, Gol D. Roger.  The Grand Pirate Gathering will transport guests into the series’ fictional world of pirates through an immersive and interactive experience, complete with iconic visuals and scenic environments that place fans at the heart of the action. Guests will also have time to enjoy uplifting meet and greet opportunities with different characters and as well as participate in themed interactive photo ops.
  • Jujutsu Kaisen: Hunger of the Cursed—This anime experience, inspired by a widely popular Japanese manga and its anime adaptation, follows high school student Yuji Itadori after he accidently becomes the host of a powerful curse and joins Tokyo Jujutsu High School, an organization that fights the curses. This epic adventure will be transformed into an exciting film-based experience, which first debuted at Universal Studios Japan.
  • The Wizarding World of Harry Potter—Guests and fans will have a chance to further engage in the theme park’s immersive land with all-new magical creature interactions, including the opportunity to meet the Niffler, a Baby Dragon and grand Occamy. The centerpiece of the experience will feature the visually spectacular Hogwarts™ Always light projection show designed to take guests on a whimsical journey through a school year at Hogwarts. Weaving together unforgettable music and incredible moments of wizardry, Hogwarts Always will shine bright as it comes to life set against the majestic backdrop of Hogwarts™ castle.
  • SUPER NINTENDO WORLD: Let’s Go, Yoshi—This exciting addition to SUPER NINTENDO WORLD will mark the debut of beloved fan favorite Yoshi as a brand new meet and greet character within the land during Universal Fan Fest Nights. As part of Yoshi’s welcome to the land, guests will have a chance to interact with Yoshi as they engage in a scavenger hunt to locate all five colorful Yoshi eggs.  After completing this original quest, guests will reap the benefit of a very special reward with the unique opportunity to meet a different colored Yoshi. Plus, guests will be treated to celebratory drone moments that will illuminate the night sky throughout the evening.
Additionally, fans can look forward to an enticing menu of themed foods that Universal Studios Hollywood Executive Chef Julia Thrash will elevate to meteoric levels. New merchandise, including collectibles, apparel, drinkware, accessories and more, will debut in tandem with the grand opening of Universal Fan Fest Nights, inviting guests and fans to display their fandom during the event and beyond."

The only thing is, the Star Trek: Red Alert seems to be based on Picard and newer trek and as a fan...that kind of sucks. We're gonna guess you meet the Borg. I wonder...knowing how Paramount does it they use old costume from the show or even the Vegas casino that was shut down ages ago.

Dark Delicacies Closing April and John Carpenter In Concert October

Dark Delicacies, the classic Burbank haunt and horror store, is closing this year. After reading the latest issue of horror magazine, Rue Morgue, it turns out that its owners, Sue and Del Howison are just getting older and want to call it quits. It'll live on with pop-ups and at conventions, but there won't be a physical store anymore.

It won't make it to Halloween as it's suppose to be closing down this April. We suggest going to one of the many signings still going on. Check out the store, before it's gone. Pay your respects and grab a scary book or memento, while you still can.

Hype: Mai Street Fighter 6,WORMHOLE, Star Trek: Section 31 Sucks & OPUS

SNK’s "good girl" Kunoichi Mai Shiranui joins the Street Fighter 6 roster on February 5, 2025

WORMHOLE is a new addictive take on snake, the classic calculator/phone game

The RogerEbert.com Review of Star Trek: Section 31 sets phasers to kill.

"But perhaps its last true gasp is “Section 31,” a shrug of a TV movie that looks and feels exactly like what it is: An aborted spinoff series whittled down to a one-off movie of the week. At best, it’s an olive branch to its contractually obligated megastar; at worst, it’s a “Rebel Moon“-level fiasco that doesn’t get why people watch “Trek” in the first place."

Empire review

"The grating amount of 2020s meme-speak [...] jars and feels painfully ‘now’, losing sight of the fact that, at its best, Star Trek should feel timeless."

OPUS – In Theaters March 14

Con Hype: WonderCon and Anime Expo Planning & Bubblegum Crisis - Complete Collection

Don't forget, WonderCon's not that far away, it's March 28-30th in Anaheim.

Attendees will celebrate their favorite anime and stories in an educational and exhilarating campus environment. You won’t want to miss it!"

Mark Your Calendar: Registration opens on January 28, 2025, at 12PM PT.

Did not expect an academia theme, let's see how far AX takes it and hopefully has some better food this year.

Bubblegum Crisis - Complete Collection - Back on Blu-ray Feb 2025

"A Cyberpunk Anime Classic by a Who’s Who of Anime

Bubblegum Crisis features character designs by Kenichi Sonoda (Riding Bean, Gunsmith Cats, Gall Force), production design by Shinji Aramaki (Appleseed, Full Metal Alchemist, Space Pirate Captain Harlock 2013), direction by Katsuhito Akiyama (Armitage III), Masami Obari (Detonator Orgun), Fumihiko Takayama (Patlabor III), Jun Okada, Hiroaki Goda (Oh My Goddess!), with music by Koji Makaino (Oh My Goddess!), and mechanical designs by Sonoda, Aramaki and Hideki Kakinuma (Detonator Orgun).

The success of the series spawned several sequel series that included AD Police Files, Parasite Dolls, and Bubblegum Crash (also distributed by AnimEigo)"

Hype: Feel Better LA, Castlevania: Nocturne Watch Devils aka Korean Face-Off

Nice one from Furtado. We interviewed him back in 2015 or really slimed him.

Castlevania: Nocturne Season 2 is a bloody good action anime. Gotta say we were worried it was gonna mostly be talk or not get good to the final episode. But each episode had enough action to make it worth it. And, the team behind it has pulled off just some of the best fight scenes ever.

I say check it out now, because it took a year for them to make this second season and it's currently in limbo if they'll make another unless Netflix green lights it. And, you know how finicky Netflix is, so all you gotta do is watch it, because that all Netflix sees. And, they can be fast to act on cancelling.

Here's hoping for more fights in a season 3 or at least a new Casltevania series with some new messed-up protagonists.

Just in time for Valentine's Day and not the bad idea of releasing a cape movie that day instead. Oh, Captain America is not a romantic choice. Heart Eyes looks like a fun time for v-day for people in love with the horror genre.

Devils (Korean Face-Off)

Coming out from TerrorVision

Oh, it's a body switch movie from Korea that literally mentions Face-Off, it's a must see just because of those factors for many cinephiles. And, it's out on Blu-ray later this month.

Full Synopsis:

Having lost his colleague who was also his brother-in-law to a serial murderer two years ago, homicide detective Jae Hwan (Oh Dae-hwan) is unable to contain his hatred toward the murderer and dives headfirst into hunting the brutal killer, Jin-hyoek (Jang Dong-yoon /Project Wolf Hunting). Jae Hwan finally comes face to face with the murderer but in the heat of the chase, they get into an accident. Waking up in a hospital, Jae Hwan realizes his body has been switched with that of the murderer. To protect his family and uncover the secret of this body switch, Jae Hwan begins a desperate chase.

This Face/Off inspired story packs the punches, blood, and its action freaking packed along with extra features for the disc. Terror Vision continues to bring the goods with modern films and Devils is no slouch with this feature from the producer that brought you; The Medium, I Saw The Devil, The Housemaid, and The Chaser.

Fede Alvarez explains the presence of the line “Get away from her, you b%#ch!”

From the same Empire Magazine we've already gone over in, Fede Alvarez Doesn't Understand Why People Don't Like Dead Ian Holm CGI In Alien: Romulus , we also get why that totally out of place line was left in the movie and how Fede felt like there was no way to fight it.

Yup, because some stupid test audience cheered for it. It should have never been recorded as a line and Fede got that, but because he left it in at a unfinished screening it's stuck in his fan film with a huge budget.

Taskmaster Series 19 Interview with Alex Horne & Taskmaster Greg Davies

Series creator Alex Horne and the Taskmaster himself, Greg Davies were nice enough to chat with me over Zoom in the above interview. We go over the new cast, which includes: Mathew Baynton, Fatiha El-Ghorri, Rosie Ramsey, Stevie Martin and How Did This Get Made's Jason Mantzoukas.

Highlights including: eating a very large cookie, discussing Junior Taskmaster, the idea of a Taskmaster Pop-Up at a restaurant, how different Jason made the series, Greg being covered in butter, what Greg & Alex want to guest on and, of course, if the new Einstein tongue out photo of Greg was real or CGI'd.

Tuesday, in New York City, the Taskmaster Series 19 premiere took place and a press release told us that: "Afterwards, there was a Q&A with series host / taskmaster Greg Davies and series creator / taskmaster’s assistant Alex Horne, moderated by Josh Gondelman. They then had audience members complete special tasks such as throwing paper planes to see who could land closest to Alex's mouth, decoding a phone number using clues to call Greg on stage, and a pattern memory game with sequences of blue and pink.

The winner from each task was then brought on stage to compete in one final task together culminating in one winner. After the Q&A and tasks were finished, Greg and Alex ran up and down the aisles allowing fans to capture selfies with them as they quickly went by."
Gotta love that even for a premiere they had tasks for fans.

Can't wait for the 19th series to start on the Taskmaster YouTube Channel and via the SVOD service Taskmaster SuperMax+
