Halloween Update 2024: Michaels Halloween Is...Wait, Toilets?

Michaels sure doesn't repeat itself with a theme each year. Do you want a 60's Spooky? How about a white sliver themed mix?

Well, here's some photos of the Hippie Hallow Collection and the Haunted Forest Collection. Oh, and the Midnight Moon Collection.

Oh, and then there's the weird fetish thing with toilets in multiple collections.

National Cinema Day? When Again?

With Labor Day Weekend here and the feeling of something missing in my Editor's "the force" while editing last week's Weekly What To Do. I was sad to read the stumbling of our collective theater chains on National Cinema Day. A Day when all big chains made movies, way, way cheaper to see. I loved telling you all about it and it seemed like a great motivator for everyone to go out the movies. Even see something bad for cheap.

No good reason is given why the same date they've had it for two years was skipped and that it might happen this Winter, but the outlooks grim. The IndieWire goes over some sad points and it looks like the much loved new holiday/deal might be dead.

You can tell the theaters how you feel about this two simple ways, they all have a comments section and they do read it. The second, just don't go to the movies and wait till it comes home for rent.

If they can't even give people a day for some deep discounts, then they can't really function year round with such service.

Local Hype: All The Saved Bad News

Here's just an overwhelming amount of things to make you angry before you clock out for Labor's Day Weekend. The Cartoon Network website is just another amazing bad decision in so many as WB's loses face every day as a former entertainment institution.

Hope this one especially doesn't pass as any sort of deal allowing drinks being served till 4am endangers the lives of everyone in LA. You can be a rich drunk driver and still easily kill someone.

Got these two from Super Punch.

Very concerned about Metro safety with a story like that.

Yeah, the city's not doing a great job with the homeless.

Cartoon Network No Longer Has A Website Due To Cost-Cutting Measures At Parent Company

Jurassic World: Rebirth: I'm Sorry, You're Still Doing This?

In the above photos we have Jonathan Bailey and I didn't even realize it was Scarlett Johansson. That soldier whose about to get eaten, why that's Mahershala Ali...he'll be Blade one day...

Usually, you might want to hype up your dinosaur movie with photos of ...I don't know, dinosaurs.

This and the insane synopsis of I guess our heroes failed in the last movie and Earth's ecosystem is so bad you have to live near the equator or you'll die is all that's come out on news on the film. Too early to cut a trailer, too early for me to care.

Universal we'll just not let this series go extinct. We didn't need a seventh film or they could wait a couple more years than coming out July 2025.

Will it be the most compelling movie ever, nope. We'll it have some cool scenes, sure. It might even have dinosaurs, but I'm not sure.

Halloween Update 2024: Early Halloween Snacks: Beetlejuice Beetlejuice Fanta, Ghost Toast KitKat & Glow-In-The-Dark Pringles

Let's take a look at Halloween stuff you can already get or is starting to advertise.

Fanta is giving up the fun looking Halloween designs for generic Beetlejuice Beetlejuice character images. With a new flavor, Haunted Apple, which is basically cinnamon apple. Not our favorite. We did try it and can tell you, you don't need to try it.

Glow-in-the-dark Pringles are back

Hype: Ranma 1/2 Oct, Balatro Custom Cards Update, Blizzard Done Bad, Taiko For Modern Consoles & The Weirdest Video Game Story This Year

We're kind of amazed that a brand new Ranma 1/2 is headed to Netflix this October and not Crunchyroll. Anime seems to be totally accepted in the forefront of media...or at least trying to drive numbers on Streaming.

So, just a heads up, this is just a cosmetic update. You got to go to settings a customize cards. I don't think the trailer explains it that well or where to go to have the themed cards show up.

We'd be amazed if this was up to date with all the extra nonsense that Blizzard turns out. Probably have a whole new chapter added digitally upon release.

PlayStation’s ‘Concord’ Did Not Break 700 Players On Steam On Launch Day

It doesn't give you much confidence in the game or it not switching to a free model of play.

Inkulinati developer Yaza Games is taking a really weird idea of what to do with the game art and making an entirely new game with it. It's almost like a Super Mario Maker, with no levels to play.

A Prominent Accessibility Advocate Worked With Studios and Inspired Change. But She Never Actually Existed.

IGN has an exclusive and it's not a trailer. Doing real and legitimate journalism...we know, we know. They have a feature on how three separate disabled women advocating for disabled rights in gaming never existed. It's one weird read.

The silliest thing in the comments might be praise for IGN writing a real article and not just reviewing something. We think everyone would agree that we'd love to see more from IGNarticles  just like this one.

Game Hype: The Jackbox Naughty Pack Sept 12th

The Jackbox Naughty Pack gets us all hot and bothered Thursday, September 12th. Some of them are a slap of paint with some more dirtier writing than usual from the great staff over at Jackobx, one's a whole new game. If you're old enough you can enjoy it for Halloween.

Three Games in The Jackbox Naughty Pack from press release:

 -   Fakin’ It All Night Long (Social Deduction): A returning sequel to Fakin’ It, this game will assign one Faker per round and it is up to the group to determine which player is lying when asked questions such as “Put a finger up for every public restroom you’ve used today”. This game introduces a brand-new “remote play” mode so that everyone can join even if they’re not in the same room. 3 - 8 players.

 -   Dirty Drawful (Drawing, Guessing): Another returning sequel, this game challenges players to draw a picture based off of the dirty prompt they receive on their phones. Their mission is to convince everyone else that their prompt best fits the drawing, or if they’re the artist, to best match the correct prompt. 3 - 8 players.

   - Let Me Finish (Debate): This new presentation game examines life’s serious questions like, “Where is this mailbox’s butt?” or “How does this avocado get aroused?” Everyone gets a chance to speak their mind, but will others pick up what you’re putting down? 3 - 8 players.
