Donuts, donuts and more donuts cascaded a corner of Elysian Park. So many donuts and only so much room for the 2nd annual Donut Summit held the last day of July this summer. Oddballs and the poorly dressed only made the feast more funny as the wearing of Donut hats were plentiful. Not as constructed well as a Nacho Hat created by The Simpsons, but still something to gawk at. The judges wore hats of glue and circular dough as they looked around for the perfect King of Donuts

The crowd hungrily devoured the donuts in a sight that would make a diabetic cry. Wave after wave of donut was entered and ranked. So many locations of LA were touched and eaten. They were chewed and scrutinized and enjoyed as we enjoyed a lazy summer afternoon.

There were Donut haikus and and Donut croquet where donut balls were hit around until a dog happened by and ended the game. The donut necklaces were given out to those who brought the winning donuts all in good bakery fun.

Games such a "donut holes" or donut toss were made even grander by the fact of having Unicorn on them.

The festivities ended for me as a Mariachi band happened to walk by, the second random Mariachi band, ponies had walked by earlier, and were about to start serenading those filled with sugar, dough and coffee.
