AX 2011: Bandai Entertainment Panel

Other than getting a solid street date for the Disappearance of Haruhi Suzumiya ,Sept 20th, it seemed like Bandai was filled with Gundam. Gundam this and Gundam that. The new version of the original series seemed nice. I'm a little sad not to see any news for Haruhi-Chan Part 2, even though box art is floating around Amazon, maybe it'll be announced later.

Gundam Unicorn and Turn a Gundam, the turn of the century gundam series will be coming out soon.

K-on has launched it's second DVD by the time your reading this, let's hope it's a cute and Moe as the first.

The Tekken movie is going to be in theaters later this July, I looked at the theaters in LA and the surrounding cities, it's actually quite a bit. The story looks to make little sense just like the game, but your mostly going to see it for the fights like the game. I think they dragged it out  a little much didn't understand that it doesn't seem that amazing to an American audience for a full cgi movie, they just showed some still clips from it at one point and it was just awkward silence until we got to a Panda doing something funny.

Here's the blurb form the Fathom site

"Namco Bandai Games, Bandai Entertainment and NCM Fathom are partnering to bring TEKKEN Blood Vengeance 3D to movie theaters for a One Night Only event on Tuesday, July 26, 2011 at 7:30 pm (local time). This special event is based on one of the most popular and well-known gaming brands in the world, TEKKEN. TEKKEN Blood Vengeance 3D will give fans a look into history and motivations of the fighters who join the King of Iron Fist Tournament.

Following the presentation to TEKKEN Blood Vengeance 3D will be a 20 minute special featuring interviews with the TEKKEN Project Director and Screenwriter."

It makes wonder whenever the live action Tekken will come out stateside, if ever, it's  everything bad with a video game movie unless you see the worse King of Fighters movie, which is also not looking good for stateside release.

Update:

Oops my mistake, it's coming out from Well Go USA, July 26th

Oh wow, looking around Anchor Bay, bought Tekken July 19th

those were mistakes

Star Driver looks like it may be fun, but it seems to be about school politics and fancy robot fighters, I'll have to know more about the series to give you a better opinion
