CapeTown Film Fest 2013: Star Wars Day

Star Wars Day was a sight to see with huge lines of fans ready to see Return of the Jedi in the exact same place it premiere thirty years ago. CapeTown Film Fest has 4 showings all day, so no fan could go without Ewoks. The version seen at the Egyptian, the original theater it was premiered in, had the 1997 version with the original Anakin Skywalker in it, not a young Hayden Christensen when he becomes a ghost at the end. Fans also enjoyed the short  before the film, Return of the Return of the Jedi featuring nerd celebs discussing what the film meant to them.

Outside with Storm Troopers and Darth Vader slightly away from the Chinese theater you could take your picture with Jabba the Hutt or a Darth Vader statue. Remixed Star Wars rhymes were played a fans dressed up in costume showing their loyalty to the series. Inside the screenings fans could win prizes at special screening trivia contests and sound-like-a-Wooki- contests. For some special screening fans would get a surprise guest, more on that later.
