TTDILA'S Heavy Heavy Violence in My Famicase Exhibition 2013

With the UCLA Game Arts Festival today I thought it best to show off Heavy Heavy Violence from us here at Things To Do In LA. It's part of the My Famicase Exhibition going on in Japan right now in the Meteor gallery and store. Thanks to the artistic endeavors of our own Andrew Gallardo, he's been cameraman many times and now does TTDILA COMICSand a fun idea I had, we're part of this video game praising art show. The My Famicase Exhibition let's artists create covers of Famicom (the NES for us in the states) game cartridges based on whatever they want. We're entry #36 and proud to share the honor of being in the show with so many other talented artists you see on the net.

Check out Heavy Heavy Violence and the rest of the cartridges in the show below,

Vote for #36 Heavy Heavy Violence here as your favorite piece in the show.

Heavy Heavy Violence was our entry and though there's no real game here the synopsis:

"Pain! Punches! Hunger! Heavy Heavy Violence is a two-player co-op beat-em up from the 80’s featuring two overweight hitmen.  Andy and Johnny are overweight hitmen, who give up the tough guy act to be fat. Getting free eats for cleaning up the town is sweet, but goes sour when the Mayor sends his army of goons, cutthroats and pimps to rule the Clydepia Town in fear.  These riotous fat dudes won’t stand for it or possibly won’t stand due to being fat. The fatter you are the stronger you are! If it isn’t nailed down it can be eaten by Andy and Johnny including defeated foes. Hot dogs, milkshakes, cars, small dogs and more can be lifted from the background and eaten. The more they eat the bigger they get with more powerful attacks.  Pull off super attacks like the belly flop and mega fart. Pull off the devastating co-op attack triple bypass. Save the town and save your snacks!"

You can see the creative process unfold from the earliest sketch to final product from the top of the page to the bottom. My favorite part other than the blood is my pixelated TTDILA logo in the corner.
