The Dark Knight Returns Part 1 and 2 Quick Review

I got bored and watched them. Part 2 shines beyond Part 1, so maybe skip Part 1. Seeing Ronald Regan be his stereotypical self from the Boondocks and seeing the Joker go on a killing spree in a tunnel of love made it entertaining. I hope they release just that clip of the murder spree on Valentine's Day.
These films will remind you of Robocop, not only because Batman is voiced by Peter Weller (Robocop), but because Frank Miller wrote both Robocop and the comics which this animated film is based on. I swear the end credits come up like Robocop's  and the music is almost the same. There's a very 80's sense of humor towards the government and the problems of the world vibe.
Watching Batman beat the hell out of Superman makes me hunger for the terribly named Injustice: Gods Among Us We Couldn't Come Up With A Good . It's also fun to see Batman beating up mutants, swastika nippled topless women, police and the Joker. The Joker fight was intense and bitter perfect for a bat fan.
-Conan O'Brien has a voice-over cameo as a late night host, he dies so it was kind of cool.

-Rob Paulsen (Yakko, Animaniacs) and Frank Welker (Fred Jones, Scooby-Doo) sure have a lot of minor roles in these. You could have just thrown in some animators to do voice overs for fun.
