Haruhi-Chan Part 1 Review

The Melancholy of Haruhi-Chan Suzumiya * Nyoron! Churuya-san is chibi at it's best. Haruhi-Chan takes all the characters from the series and dubbing voices of Melancholy  and makes them adorable or more adorable, Mikuru . If you haven't seen The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya you might be lost while watching the series, many jokes come from knowing the characters and stories. However, since it's so random someone could pick it up and enjoy it.
You get two different animations the first Haruhi-chan as I was describing takes jabs at the series. Sometimes with jokes based on Japanese culture or just being silly. The show becomes a complete comedy, with each character becoming sillier or more childish. Nagato starts play dirty hentai games, Miss Asahina has a pet tiny lion. Even Ryoko Asakura comes back as a half-pint back up of herself, that is teased and treated like a baby by Nagato. Miss Asakura must know also be weary of cats who mistake her for food.  Itsuki and Kyon dress up like male escorts and a maid jumps through a window.

The first few episodes had some weird cgi issues for the animation, the latter episodes switched to the old style of being drawn. These episodes look better, you can tell the difference.
These could be extras for a special blu-ray edition of Haruhi-Chan, there is more than a hour worth of content, but your not going to find it anywhere else, I 'd like if part two comes out soon, but I don't see any signs online other than a cover floating around Amazon with no true release date.

Nyoron! Churuyu-san is another walk in the park and a different take on comedy. It stars a super tiny Tsuruya now called Churuya , everyone else is a mean jerk and Churuya will not stop talking about smoked cheese. The other odd behavior is her going Nyoron, which is never explained. The jokes come at Churyua's expense by her being treated poorly.

The animations is totally different and is very simple, Haruhi and the other main characters have the same face. Churuya looks like a puppet and the height difference is huge.

The joke mainly seems to be that in the real series Tsuruya is never part of the main group, always a side character bumping in. This other animation of the disc takes it a huge step with that constantly making poor little Churuya-san being left out.

My favorite part would be Kyon showing up out of nowhere with his arms crossed saying no to little miss Churuya-san about anything about smoked cheese.

If your a fan of he series it's a must have just for all the in jokes and takes on minor ideas about the show
