Children of the Plumed Serpent: The Legacy of Quetzalcoatl in Ancient Mexico

On view April 1-July 1, 2012, the exhibition explores an unprecedented period of cultural innovation and trade that resulted from the belief in this mythic icon as led by his followers—the Children of the Plumed Serpent. Featuring 200 rare objects, the show brings forth rare painted codices, turquoise mosaics, gold, and textiles from the United States, Mexico, and Europe, and follows the epic tale of this legendary hero.
