Weekly What To Do: So Much Film Blargh! at the Global reddit Meet-Up Day

Blargh! There's just so much movie to munch on this week with the LA Film Festival starting today, that and all the special screenings over at the Aero and Egyptian. This town is filled to the brim with stuff to have your mouth lather over with with music, art and a heavy dose of Hello Kitty again. Wait, again! How much of this feline will the city take? I hope the people of reddit can get along at the Global reddit Meet-Up Day...

LA Film Fest
Wed, June 10-18
Regal 14
1000 W Olympic Blvd
Los Angeles, CA
Price per film varies

So many films to choose from, so many up and coming directors. Yet, the only film we care for is
Dude Bro Party Massacre III and it's already sold out with rush line available. Looks like it gave up on the video game competition and the bizarre connection with Hub from last year, that network did die. LA Film Fest Free Screening - WHO FRAMED ROGER RABBIT, shown for free at Union Station this Friday, June 12 @ 8:00 pm

The Atomo-Vision of Joe Dante
Wed, Jun 10, 2015 - Sun, Jun 14, 2015
Egyptian Theatre 6712 Hollywood Boulevard
Hollywood, CA 90028
Price varies per screening

"Comedy and horror share a great kinship and now, more than ever, the tropes in horror are ripe for comedy,” noted Joe Dante of BURYING THE EX, his new mash-up of romantic comedy and zombie movies. Few directors have managed to juggle the funny and the frightening with as much dexterity as Dante, a lifelong film fan well-versed in genre conventions and willing to strategically upend them."

Joe Dante will introduce each double feature, and participate in a Q&A after an advance screening of BURYING THE EX! along with stars Anton Yelchin, Ashley Greene and Alexandra Daddario.

Part of the art walk; we're very perplexed by this one as to how the rights to these well-known anime characters were allowed to be used for bad looking CGI comedy or how it has no connection to any other anime organization, didn't connect to Ninja-Con, QPop (whcih just had a Tatsunoko show) or AX.

$15 Cosplayer

Weekend before AX we have anime events to fill you with community and places to take fine pics of cosplayers. Only in its second year, I think I like LA Coslplay Con more than NinjaCon for it's tighter theme and one location basis. It's strange because so many people from NinjaCon will be at this con, but if you're more into just pulling of a great costume come by. Some of Con Man, the Kickstarted series will be filmed over the weekend, because of cheap backgrounds.
