Well, That Was Fast: WonderCon 2024's Schedule Is Up Now

WonderCon's 2024's Schedule is up now. Gotta say, we don't like the new site , it feels like it constantly needs to load or something?

Here's some highlights:

Saturday, March 30 • 2:00pm - 3:00pm
Adult Swim’s Smiling Friends 
Get ready for the return of Pim, Charlie, and the rest of the gang dedicated to bringing happiness to their bizarre and colorful world in the second season of Smiling Friends. Series co-creators and stars Michael Cusack and Zach Hadel give a special look at the new season of the weirdly warm and oddly relatable workplace comedy that could only exist on Adult Swim.

Star Trek: Discovery: Final Season Premiere Screening
*Does this show have any fans? I just kind of want to see who even likes it.
Be one of the first to see the premiere episode of the final season of Star Trek: Discovery followed by a moderated Q&A with Michelle Paradise (EP/showrunner) and Olatunde Osunsanmi (EP/director), where they will discuss working on the final season and tease what’s to come.

Doctor Who: Science and History—Now with Puppets!
In all of time and space, the Doctor has witnessed (and in some cases, influenced) major historical events. The Doctor is also a scientific and technological genius, comfortable talking to scientists across the galaxy. This panel by Order of Gallifrey members explores some of the real-world science and historical events covered by Doctor Who. There will be plenty of time for your Q&A's, and some questions may be answered by puppets!

Godzilla Minus One: A Triumphant and Profound Kaiju Movie
Dr. Drea Letamendi (psychologist/UCLA), Susanne Rust (journalist, L.A. Times), Jana Monji (film critic, Age of the Geek.org, RogerEbert.com, AsAm News), and moderators Nikhil Shah (lawyer, Godzilla Geek) and Jose Gonzalez, Jr. (biologist/screenwriter) will discuss the background of the Godzilla film, including the atomic tests in the Marshall Islands that led to the inspiration behind the Godzilla franchise including Minus One. The panel will also discuss issues of PTSD shown in Minus One from the survivors of war and will discuss what made this movie successful with audiences, including strong characters, storytelling, and efficient use of a limited budget by the director.

Boy Kills World Film Panel
 Producer Sam Raimi (Evil Dead trilogy, Spider-Man), director Moritz Mohr (Akumi), and actors Famke Janssen (X-Men, Goldeneye), Sharlto Copley (Monkey Man, District 9), Jessica Rothe (Happy Death Day), Brett Gelman (Stranger Things), and Isaiah Mustafa (IT: Chapter Two) present their highly anticipated film Boy Kills World opening April 26, only in theaters. Be among the first to see exclusive footage and go behind the scenes of this hyperkinetic, deranged action thriller, directed by Moritz Mohr, making his feature film debut. Moderated by Brandon Zachary (Comic Book Resources).

X-Men Fandom Panel
 Calling all mutants! The 5th Annual X-Men Fandom Panel returns to WonderCon for an all-new and X-citing adventure to celebrate the newly launched animated series, X-Men ’97. X-Reads Podcast hosts Chandler Poling and Chris Rileywelcome cast members Lenore Zann (Rogue), AJ LoCascio (Gambit), Holly Chou (Jubilee), Matthew Waterson (Magneto), JP Karliak (Morph), Isaac Robinson-Smith (Bishop), Gui Agustini (Sunspot), and supervising producer Jake Castorena. The panel will feature clips from the series and special giveaways for select members of the audience.

The WonderCon 2024 Masquerade 
 he annual onstage costume competition celebrates the amazing cosplay creativity and talents of WonderCon attendees. Not a dance or party, the masquerade is a series of onstage presentations of terrific fan-crafted costumes, with trophies, generous cash prizes, and other awards, and judged by professional costume designers. The guest mistress of ceremonies will be WonderCon special guest Ashley Eckstein (founder of the Her Universe fashion and lifestyle brand, and the voice of Ahsoka Tano for Star Wars: The Clone Wars, Star Wars: Rebels, Star Wars: Forces of Destiny, and more). There will also be the usual special entertainment during the judging break with a new performance by the talented Corps Dance Crew, and then a big new Star Wars–inspired show by the amazing Saber Guild lightsaber group. Doors will open at 8:00 for audience seating, but the line for choice seating always starts to form earlier. No flash photography, please.
