Project S'more Chapters 1+2 Workshops
Plywood bending Saturday December 8th, 1pm to 6pm.
Structural Engineering Sunday December 9th, 1pm to 5pm.
The next installation at Materials and Applications is going to be a unique structure, requiring among other things a cnc glue lamination system to be developed. Chapter 1 is a workshop to develop this machine and begin fabricating components for the structure that can be used for stress analysis.
Edmund Ming Yip Kwong will introduce us to his design and its origins. Followed by development of techniques for glue lam including vacuum bagging and sandwich jigs. Finally leading to programmable application of techniques we have refined. beer and pizza will be served at end of day review. noon till 7pm this will be a chance to learn about the next m&a installation from the designer and get involved in its development at the start.
