Other Mommy has to sell itself by saying it's from Blumhouse, y'know they made Obsession. And, that James Wan was a producer on Backrooms in a trailer that just came out today. Not a good sign that the director's name isn't shown. That's because he's not that good a director. Rob Savage directed and co-wrote Dashcam, which might have the greatest misleading trailer ever. What looks like a found footage masterpiece, becomes a slog with one of the most annoying protagonists to make me want to stop and jump out of the car she's in. Rob's other films don't really make you think he can pull off a good scary movie.
Have to say this mommy horror movie has another slick trailer, but with whose involved, I'll wait for streaming.
On that note, the Blumhouse brand that made a kajillion dollars on Obsession doesn't even want to bother with Soulm8te, a horror movie set in the Megan universe with a killer new dating robot. I write bother, because it's going straight to rent online, no theater release; Aug 1st. But, it is co-written by Ingrid Bisu who gave us Malignant. And, that movie was fun for just being absolutely nuts. We're not saying she's a good writer, just more that it's insane they gave money for that script and was fun to see on screen.
NIGHTBORNE is the first full test AI film I have made. It was made using Seedance 2.0.

I've been experimenting with AI for a couple of years, and it's now at the point where I want to tackle a full feature in this format. This is a 13-minute test start.
It was made with real… pic.twitter.com/mtnGt12qfP
