D23 Details & Lucas Museum Inaugural Film Program

Early next month we have D23, Disney's own Comic-Con, that'll probably hype up the Avengers: Doomsday movie even more. There's not only Marvel stuff at it, because Disney has so many different movies/shows , it's hard to imagine all of it. Below is just some of the thing mention in the latest press release:

August 14, 15, and 16, 2026, at the Anaheim Convention Center
$$

Guests can accept a new mission at Marvel Studios' TVA Experience: A New Assignment; swap stories with the filmmakers behind a galaxy far, far away at the Lucasfilm pavilion; celebrate Pixar's 40th anniversary; and travel into the worlds of Disney+ and Hulu in a signature 4D theater. Beyond the marquee studios, fans can venture into the rarely seen vaults of the Walt Disney Archives, get a glimpse of the future of the parks with the Imagineering: Horizons pavilion, discover standout offerings from some beloved brands, and come face-to-face with the magic makers who bring Disney stories to life across the company. Disney continues to create meaningful connections with audiences of all ages and the show floor will offer fans unprecedented opportunities to celebrate some beloved favorites, discover new adventures, and experience the magic in ways only Disney can deliver.

And, though it's not part of Disney, some people might think it is, the Lucas Museum is opening this September and just announced it's starting line-up of media inside of it in it's own two theaters.

Here's what's coming to both of them:

Comic Book Confidential, directed by Robert Mann

Screenings in the Slavko Vorkapich Theater, dedicated to “the emotion of motion” with innovative short

films from the earliest years of the medium to the present, will include:

montage sequences by Vorkapich for films such as Mr. Smith Goes to Washington
early silent films by Georges Méliès, Émile Cohl, W.K.L. Dickson, Edwin S. Porter, and others
    early animations by Winsor McCay
