Game Hype: Super Mario Party, Lego DC Super-Villains, Soulcalibur IV, Taiko Drum Master & Tetris Effect

This October into November we're gonna have a lot of games coming out that you can enjoy with friends or games that can possibly ruin friendships. Yes, Mario Party is back. There's more than just that for your Halloween get-together or things to do for Thanksgiving, so let's look.

In order of release, we have, of course
Super Mario Party October 5
$59.99
only on Switch

This newest edition of the game is up to 4 players and even a 2 on 2 mode. There's 80 new mini-games and some game that require all 4 players to work together. You can even lay two Switch's together to play out games like classic board games. Oh, and finally, online play.
Lego DC Super-Villains October 16
$59.99
on PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch, Xbox One, Microsoft Windows

How can you not love a game with so much DC Comics lore? And you get to be the villain? I'm not sure kids have ever heard of Earth 2 and the doppelgangers of the Justice League and the stories about them. They'll learn, they"ll learn... but you already know if a comics fan. From the same people who've been making all the Lego Games it looks like another fun play through that world.

Let's not forget a voice cast that has all your favorites from the WB cartoons, yes, they got Mark Hamill as the Joker. And good ol' Clancy Brown is Lex Luthor again with a number of old favorites.

Soulcalibur IV October 19
$59.99
PlayStation 4,Xbox One & PC

Oh, we can't wait for the action and swordsmanship...and just wreaking havoc on other characters torsos and faces. We haven't had a new game since 2012. Now, we have one for this console cycle and we can't wait to play.

We had so much fun creating our own fighters based on TV shows and cartoons in the last game. We can't wait to create fighters based on memes in this new one. How fast until Bowsette is created? Probably, day one.

Taiko no Tatsujin: Drum Session! for the PS4 and Taiko no Tatsujin: Drum 'n' Fun! for the Nintendo Switch $49.99 each
November 2

We love Taiko Drum Master! We guess their keeping the name of Taiko no Tatsujin, for some reason. It's okay to call it Taiko Drum Master though. It's a rhythm game from Japan that you might be luckily enough to play at arcades. If you can find an arcade. The closes we've spotted and played one in LA is at a Round 1.

The game have you pounding away matching your moves to the song. This is all beats to some of the latest popular songs from Japan. So, expect to play anime themes and Jpop.

These are both digital entries. People are clamoring for an included drum peripheral, but the only way to get one is to import. Still, the idea of playing on Switch seems like a lot of fun with its controls.

We're glad we're getting the latest in the series, but please sell some of the drums out here too, Bandai Namco.
Tetris Effect November 2
$?
only on PS4

So pretty! Can't stop staring . Must move blocks. The eye-catching Tetris Effect comes to home console this November. It's probably the greatest looking Tetris ever and can be played in PS VR.

The name comes from the feeling the game gives you  getting so immersed in it. It sort of stays with you. It looks like if you do well enough the game will slow down for you so you can pull off a higher score.

Games galore for the next few months for the holiday season. You"ll have plenty to play around the fire or TV with a fire image on it.
