Video Visions is a monthly cinema-inspired stand-up show hosted by Ellie Race-Moore and Luce Tomlin-Brenner!

Each performer is shown a surprise clip from a film and then does an improvised stand-up set based on that clip. Meaning every show is unique, never before seen, and never to be seen again.

Normally performed at the microcinema at Videotheque, one of the last remaining video stores in LA, this month, for one night only, the show will be hosted at the UCB Annex!

Architect and designer Gregg Fleishman presents ANTIDOTE, an exhibition of functional art, collectible design, and large-scale geometric installations opening April 9, 2026 at Sky Portal X in Downtown Los Angeles.

The exhibition introduces Fleishman’s structural research to a new generation of collectors and architects while highlighting the continued evolution of a practice developed through more than four decades of experimentation with geometry and inhabitable form.

Presented during Los Angeles Climate Week, the exhibition also highlights the environmental relevance of his modular building systems.

LOS ANGELES, CA 90012

Attendees to Haas in the Dark may not enter the theater until they sign a mandatory waiver in person upon arrival that acknowledges their understanding that the performance is entirely in the dark and their assumption of risk for such a performance.

JACK Quartet performs George Friedrich Haas’ visionary Third String Quartet—designed to be experienced in total darkness. As Haas wrote about this work, “The outline of one’s hand will ideally not be visible even when directly in front of their face. The darkness is absolute, and the effect is disorienting: an audience member feels they have become absorbed in a level of blackness with no visual cues to demarcate the size and shape of the space or their relation to it.”

Exit 8 in Theaters Starting Thursday Night

Based on an indie PC game we didn't know wahat to expect, but we gotta say it's a nice little messed up trip into terror, look for those anomalies. I think this and The Backrooms will win over a lot of people this year.

"A man trapped in an endless sterile subway passageway sets out to find Exit 8. The rules of his quest are simple: do not overlook anything out of the ordinary. If you discover an anomaly, turn back immediately. If you don’t, carry on. Then leave from Exit 8. But even a single oversight will send him back to the beginning. Will he ever reach his goal and escape this infinite corridor?"

The JOJOCARAVAN is at Kinokuniya Los Angeles (The Bloc). Is that Kinokuniya's new permanent location since it moved out of Little Tokyo? They've never formally addressed that.

Anyway, because STEEL BALL RUN JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure came out...or at least the "first stage" did with new stages coming out this fall. Enjoy merch and photo ops, while you can remember it. Heck, maybe they'll be some sort of presence at AX to remind us the show exists. It's supposed to be going on starting Friday, but started early - 4/10 ~ 4/19: Los Angeles (The Bloc)

April 11-12, 2026
Barnes Park, located at 350 S. McPherrin Ave.
Entry to the festival is Free

Take the time to see, hear, and taste a bit of the Japanese and Japanese American culture through a first-hand experience of watching traditional Japanese dancing, hearing the resounding beats of the taiko drums, observing the mastery and various skills of martial arts, participating in the ancient art of the tea ceremony, or buying hand-made crafts or food with an Asian flair. Other highlights of the Festival include games & crafts for children and numerous cultural displays.

Spirited Away
Sat, Apr 11, 2026 | 11am PT
David Geffen Theater
$5

Spirited Away was Hayao Miyazaki’s first Oscar win, and the first hand-drawn non-English-language animated film to win the Academy Award for Best Animated Feature in 2003. The film invites audiences into a mind-bending supernatural realm when a wrong turn on a family road trip lands 10-year-old Chihiro in a mysterious dimension populated by all manner of creatures, including soot gremlins (first introduced in My Neighbor Totoro), the giant witch Yubaba, and, most memorably, the enigmatic No Face. To find her parents and return to the real world, Chihiro must work at an enchanted bathhouse serving spirits of all shapes and sizes. A tour de force of surrealist invention, Spirited Away is a timeless wonder filled with whimsy and joy.
