Final Fantasy 30th Anniversary A Legacy of Art Exhibition Will Bring Tears To Fans Wallets

by Jonathan Bilski

Gallery Nucleus, once again, had fans lining up and out the door and around the block to look at some amazing art from thirty years of Final Fantasy. Last Saturday, at noon, Gallery Nucleus opened its doors for the Final Fantasy 30th Anniversary: A Legacy of Art Exhibition and pop-up shop. There, fans were treated to drinks, special anniversary merch and one of the most wonderful collections of Final Fantasy art in one place. Each game got represented and pieces from the show are available online for auction. So, open your wallets and cry bittersweet tears as fans just like you try to outbid each other for the gaming series you love so much. Nothing below $200 so far.

If you're a fan of the series you have to take some time to see some of the amazing original artwork from the series. Really, it's an amazing sight of  fantasy art that is just utterly astonishing to stare at.

We've got some photos, but do yourself a favor, Final Fantasy fan, go in person and enjoy a series much younger than some of your kids, or older than some of your parents, depending on whose reading this.

You can follow the timeline upstairs to see which game you were born around, if born after '87. If not, follow your life as the games were coming out. It's not just our American timeline, it's also the Japanese release timeline and they do differ at the start.

For those who attended the opening the day, it was filled with special events. There were special prizes from a raffle wheel for those who purchased goods. Cup Noodles had a Ramen Sword for you to wield in photographs. That or a giant fork. To the chagrin of many, they did not have a Cup Noodles hat as seen in commercials for the latest Final Fantasy game.

Seriously, though, who doesn't love a sword made out of ramen!

Inside of Nucleus, other than the gathering of many fans, was a special signing with Final Fantasy artist Toshiyuki Itahana.

Here he is as he was finish up his signing. Later that day, he gave a live drawing demo.

Now, the weekend wasn't your final chance to see the art  in person. You still have until early January, so get on a chocobo and make it your quest over this upcoming holiday retreat to see Final Fantasy's 30th.
