Easta Good

Check out how you get your food

Patrons of the village were surprised to get a taste of eatsa before its official opening on Saturday. The new restaurant changes things up quite a bit by ordering food via a tablet and it arriving via a cubby hole. There needn't be any human interaction and at $6.95 this vegetarian restaurant is something you'll have to check out just for the speed.

Now open to the public, you can experience the second location, the first opened up just a few months back in San Fran. We at TTDILA have been looking forward to it for about a month now after seeing video online of how you grab your food without talking to anyone.

With a swipe of your card you'll get to choose from multiple healthy quinoa bowls, all $6.95 with 95 cent sodas. They were healthier than usual sodas, with low sugar, and as a soda connoisseur still tasted good enough to say they weren’t Shasta or the cheap stuff from Krogers. The menu on the tablets was fast and fluid. You can change up your order to add a little more or even create your own bowl. Usually your name is drawn from your card, but you can change it to whatever you want.

After customizing and paying for your order you’ll have to wait about two minutes and see animations on the cubbies for food. When your food is about to come out a cubby screen will turn black, so you don’t have to see the food go in, and then your name will appear on the cubby. Two taps of your fingers and it’ll open up and you can grab your food.

I tried the Burrito Bowl and Smokehouse Salad with Fresh Fruit on the side with Sparkling Mango Guava and Sparkling Citrus soda that are only 35 Calories/ 9g Sugar a cup. Everything was fulfilling, even for someone who likes meat in their diet.

Tim Young, the CEO was there, making sure everything was working fine, drinking a Sparkling Cucumber Melon in hand. Listen below to hear more about how the place came about and where its name came from in a TTDILA interview (audio only).
