Horror movies aren’t the only way to get into the Halloween spirit. From the beloved adventures of Disney’s SNOW WHITE AND THE SEVEN DWARFS and THE BLACK CAULDRON, to cozy classics like HOCUS POCUS and THE ADDAMS FAMILY and MONSTER HOUSE mayhem, these nostalgic favorites prove that even scaredy-cats can still enjoy spooky season! The Kwaidan 4K Restoration from Janus Films is coming to theaters Sept 11th. Kwaidan is known as the classic ghost story anthology movie from Japan. It may not scare on the same level being from the 1960's, but like any good ghost story the dread and fear it casts are suppose to stay with you. And, the justified 4K restoration is because it supposed be a damn good looking horror film.

Timed with the opening of The Horror Show, the museum welcomes one of the most celebrated masters of horror, John Carpenter, for the opening weekend of a retrospective film series. John Carpenter: Prince of Darkness will kick off with a screening of Halloween (1978) on Saturday, September 26, followed by screenings of They Live (1988) on Sunday, September 27, and Assault on Precinct 13 (1976) on Monday, September 28.

Oh, yeah! One of the best events in LA, the Aero Theatre Annual Horrorthon enters it's 21st year. Each year, they seemd to have a new theme, but it's a whole night of antics. You should at least stay up all night once and try it, if you're a cinephile or just want to be part pf an all-nighter at a theater.

Hercules vs. Vampires is a musical reimagining of Mario Bava's 1961 sword-and-sandal cult classic Hercules in the Haunted World, starring former Mr. Universe Reg Park—an early mentor to Arnold Schwarzenegger—alongside the legendary Christopher Lee (Lord of the Rings, Dracula, Star Wars).
Patrick Morganelli's original score adds live singers and orchestra to Mario Bava's gloriously lurid fantasy, making an already over-the-top movie even more over the top. It's high art meets high camp, with equal parts beef and cheese.
