AX Catch-Up

Some catch-up from AX, first the group behind AX seems to want to get out of LA Convention Center before the Olympics. Read from the excerpt from their official email below. Maybe, it's a scare tactic to stay with the LA Convention Center for cheaper or just a way to avoid the Olympics three years from now. AX has taken place at the Anaheim Convention Center and Long Beach Convention Center in the past, so not the scariest idea. Vegas has a new convention center too, but that might be a real big push.

"With Anime Expo's exponential growth and evolving production needs, in addition to rising labor and venue costs, SPJA announced that it is actively evaluating the City of Los Angeles as its longtime home for Anime Expo. This follows the uncertainty around the long-anticipated  expansion of the Los Angeles Convention Center, initially planned for completion ahead of the  2028 Olympic Games.

“The Los Angeles Convention Center has been our home for more than 15 years, and we are  deeply grateful to the city and community for their ongoing support,” said Ray Chiang, CEO of  SPJA. “However, our top priority has always been to deliver an exceptional experience for our attendees and partners. As we evaluate next steps, we remain committed to transparency and to finding the best possible path for Anime Expo’s future.”
