No filmmakers capture the playful chaos of action cinema’s Golden Age like Andy and Arlene Sidaris (HARD TICKET TO HAWAII). Criminal mastermind Masakana 'Kane' Kaneshiro (Pat Morita aka Mr. Miyagi from THE KARATE KID) captures Donna and Nicole, two undercover federal agents. But instead of killing them, Kane gives the duo a head start in a deadly cat-and-mouse game involving six other assassins — including Erik Estrada (CHiPs)!

Recent excavations have unearthed exciting evidence of the wealth and political importance of Pylos, a Greek Bronze Age site mentioned in Homer. Archaeologists Sharon Stocker and Jack Davis of the University of Cincinnati present their latest discoveries and provide a broad context for the first major North American exhibition dedicated to Mycenaean civilization (1700–1070 BCE). Spectacular finds from the grave of the Griffin Warrior and other princely burials reveal interactions with Minoan Crete and prove that Pylos was one of the earliest kingdoms to craft a powerful Mycenaean identity.

This will be a special HOBBIT or THERE & BACK AGAIN screening on a donation, pay what you can basis. All donations go directly to Secret Movie Club to continue its 2025 season launch and all future programming.
That’s right. Secret Movie Club is returning to new events and we want to get this party started right. With our Lord of the Rings marathon. And just in time. This may be your last chance to see these movies on the big screen for the next 2 years.
So we’re going all out. That’s right. We’re showing the extended editions of all three movies. Take the journey with us as we join Frodo, Sam, Gandalf the Wizard, Legolas, Gimli, Boromir, and Stryder as they form a fellowship to destroy the evil ring of power in the mountains of Mordor before the Dark Lord Sauron can get the ring and enslave all of Middle Earth.

MOCA Focus: Takako Yamaguchi is the third exhibition in the
recently relaunched MOCA Focus series, which presents an artist’s first
solo museum show in Los Angeles and centers on new or discrete bodies of
work. Born in Okayama, Japan, in 1952, Yamaguchi moved to the U.S. in
the early 1970s and began to appropriate imagery from sources as diverse
as Mexican muralism, Renaissance art, Japanese Nihonga, and Art Nouveau
in ornate paintings that pose a challenge to rigid notions of ethnic
identity and cultural ownership.

We got tired of leaving food festivals with nothing but one-bite tacos and rosé samples in our stomachs, so we created EEEEEATSCON, a two-day food event where you won't go home hungry. We've rounded up some of our favorite local restaurants and sprinkled in a few places across the country serving dishes you'd otherwise need plane tickets to try. And, when you need some time to digest (we get it), there'll be live music, celebrity panels, and the chance to ask our restaurant critics about your dining dilemmas.

Annie Dorsen considers how the proliferation of artificial intelligence in our daily lives feels unprecedented and asks: “Have we been here before?” Each evening of this performance, the predictive text model GPT-4 generates speculative versions of the lost final play of Aeschylus’ Prometheia trilogy. Performed by a chorus of AI-generated Greek masks, this story from ancient Greek mythology tells how Prometheus stole the god’s fire for humans–sparking sudden and dramatic advances in technology and the arts, as well as dramatic new sources of conflict.
