Installed on the street where the artist grew up, sister dreamer is Lauren Halsey’s largest work to date: a permanent sculpture park and community gathering space dedicated to the cultural life and history of South Central. The project features a landscaped courtyard with water elements, fruit trees, and native plantings, as well as architectural structures clad in sculptural concrete panels. Two entrances are marked by eight Sphinxes and eight Hathoric columns honoring the artist’s personal heroes, family members, and community leaders.
