* We assume this is this year's Beyond Fest, it doesn't seem like any other films are coming, but here's hoping.

Oscar-winning director and master filmmaker, Guillermo del Toro, joins in person for a sweeping retrospective spanning three decades of dreams and demons, including new restorations, special Director’s Cuts, and rare 35mm screenings.

Beyond Fest, the biggest and most highly attended genre film festival in the U.S., in partnership with the American Cinematheque, proudly announces a spectacular celebration of the great Guillermo del Toro. Está Vivo: The Gods and Monsters of Guillermo del Toro is the most complete retrospective of the filmmaker’s illustrious career and spans his revolutionary and electrifying debut, CRONOS 4K Restoration (Theatrical Premiere), through to his most recent descent into madness, NIGHTMARE ALLEY: VISION IN DARKNESS AND LIGHT.

Sat, Oct 11 @ 12:00 pm
Brain Dead Studios
$31.50

35mm can be beautiful, but 16mm is personal. Join this 12-hour laugh-off of sizzling slapstick, scary spoofs, and a cornucopia of pulpy creatures-of-the-night — all from Secret Sixteen’s incredibly siqq collection of this wondrous film format.

Titles aren’t revealed until they unspool onscreen. What we can say is that this six-film marathon is soaking in cartoonish carnage, sassy familiars, self-aware unseriousness, blood in the fridge, high school horndogs, neon techno-pop, head-spinning line readings, goth MILFs, juvenile jerks, “Scooby-Doo”-style intrigue, the biggest of hairdos, the dirtiest of dancing, mood whiplash, dramatic eyeliner, indulgent improv, idiot morons, camp on camp on camp, law enforcement refusing to believe the protagonists to a ridiculous degree, gore geysers, claustrophobic cackles, disembodied heads and a truckload of timeless whimsy.

SAW The Musical hilariously captures the events of the first movie parodying the Saw that started it all following from where Lawrence Gordon and Adam Stanheight find each other for the first time in the bathroom trap. Will they follow ''the rules'' as they discover each other's secrets? Will they escape the game in time and saw right through? A love story with fluidity (and lots more fluids), 'SAW The Musical: The Unauthorized Parody of Saw' is Little Shop of Horrors meets Avenue Q, pushing the boundary on sexuality and how to love.
