Shriekfest

10.00 per block, an All-Fest Pass $140.00

Fourteen years now of indie horror hitting the screen in Hollywood. One weekend is all you have to enjoy Shriekfest. Forty-two films, with shorts from around the world to salivate over.

The LA Premiere of "Time Lapse" has us giddy. In the film some friends find a machine that takes a picture one day into the future and things go wrong after getting involved with gambling.

Zugzwang(US Premiere) has an anesthesiologist make deadly decisions or his family goes bye-bye.

If you want some of the strangest shorts this side of the Dixie then you'll be getting you fill of wierd what-the entertainment.

They're not just zombies. They're Nazi zombies.

And there's a lot of them. On the orders of a rotten Führer, the zombies from Dead Snow return to settle old German scores. In the continuation of the epic splatterfest from 2009, Martin, the sole survivor of the first movie, proves that there's more badass shit in Northern Norway than even Nazi zombies would be prepared for. The table is set for a massive revenge epic, where blood, guts, brains and throats are not the only things dredged up from the darkness. Old hatred never rots.

When she agrees to rehab, with no drugs to suppress what's inside, the demon emerges.

Weekly What To Do: Adventure Through Another CicLAvia or pet some cats

We're just such fans of Adventure Time we're putting it at the top of the weekly this week, combined with our favorite video game art gallery and production company , Iam8bit, we await the results. The details are a bit shady, but if Pen Ward's there be sure to give him a hug and a new hat, he has but two.

Let me just say it's tough being a Jew this Yom Kippur with all these great events on Friday night and Saturday.

Remember to check Halloween updates for all things spooky to do this week.

Halloween Hot Sauce, I Thirst For It

Though the owner never got around to sending us a free sample or having a bottle being part of a contest on the site we can tell you that this is are yearly must have. When Halloween comes to town we can only think of eating meat at our annual Blood BBQ. While gulping down guts we need seasoning, we need taste, we need hot sauce. Hot Sauce that comes in a coffin. Coffin or without, though we highly recommend the very delicious, always all gone at the end of the BBQ hot sauces.

Victor, The Undertaker makes the sauces, supposedly from chiles used on the ground of a cemetery".  Spider Venom, Bloody Bat House and Grinning Skull Sauce our the top chocies, we left over Halloween Hot Sauce 2013 still being sold

These bad boys can't be bought anywhere in LA, they're only found online. You editor-in-chief sticks with Spider Venom for it's mild, but garlicly tast, while Murder LA's James Cohen will probably guzzle all of the Grinning Skull Sauce, any other human would burn to death... is he human?

The best payoff might be the look. A real gourmet item for Halloween. Not a genereic label with some cheesy added monsters, a brand that fully embraces horror and Halloween.

If you buy the hot sauces in coffins you'll get a toe-tagged bottle stuffed inside of a tiny coffin with a tiny burial cloth that smells like wormwood. It's a product that goes all out for whatever Halloween event you have planned and each hot sauc has a savory taste that they'll have your friends acting like zombies over brains for that added taste.

Halloween Hot Sauce does sell out before Halloween, orders can't make it if rushed last minute. So if you have a party in mind, order early!
