Weekly What To Do: Super Bowl & Valentine's Day, People Are Gonna Have Fights

Oooh a big weekend for LA as we have the Superbowl in town and everyone is gonna want to do something before Monday for Valentine's Day. Traffic might be crazier than usual this weekend. And, will Covid spread? Probably.

Will there be fights about going out and caring more about the game than a date. Yes.
And, as always here's things to do.

Going on now
Luckman Fine Arts Complex at Cal State LA
5151 State University Dr
Los Angeles, CA 90032
Free, RSVP

This exhibition, containing over 70 works, presents an expansive dive into Andy Warhol's most renowned and prolific periods of creation via Polaroids, gelatin prints, and never-before-exhibited silkscreens.

Sat, Feb 12, 11:30PM
Nuarte
$15

The longest-running midnight movie of all time stars Tim Curry as the kinky yet endearing “transsexual from Transylvania” Dr. Frank N. Furter, Susan Sarandon and Barry Bostwick as his hapless guests Brad and Janet, Meat Loaf as motorcycle-riding rough trade and author Richard O’Brien as the hunchbacked butler Riff Raff. It’s harmless musical fun—a delightful spoof of Hollywood horror movies and Old Dark House melodramas. The Rocky Horror Picture Show was the first—and is still the best—interactive movie experience!

Sat Feb 12, 19
Walt Disney Concert Hall
$27

With music by Nathaniel Stookey and words by Lemony Snicket, The Composer Is Dead introduces instruments of the orchestra through a whimsical, whodunit mystery. Plus, enjoy Shostakovich’s rollicking “Galop” from his musical comedy and Lili Boulanger’s vibrant depiction of a spring morning that showcases the players of the orchestra.

This concert is recommended for children ages 5 to 11.
