Explore and wander through the garden paths, as creepy crawlies, silly skeletons and carnivores from the Cretaceous abound!

The Simpsons producer Rick Polizzi created Boney Island for his family more than 20 years ago. It grew from a front yard display to a huge affair in Griffith Park with a cult-like following of Halloween lovers of all ages. The attraction closed in 2020 due to the COVID-19 pandemic. DIA DE LOS MUERTOS FESTIVAL
OCTOBER 25 THRU NOVEMBER 2, 2023
Olvera Street

For over 35 years, the merchants on Olvera Street have celebrated Dia de los Muertos. The celebration has evolved to incorporate the pre-Columbian, Aztec, Mayan and Catholic rituals surrounding death. Each night, a vibrant and colorful procession sets the stage for our ceremony.

Dia de los Muertos is, in fact, a celebration of life – it is not a time to mourn our loved ones, rather it is a time to remember the lives they lead and the many things they enjoyed during that life. Death is a part of life, and so we honor it. Dia de los Muertos at Olvera Street is the only celebration of its kind in Los Angeles – A nine (9) day festival, with a nightly procession, community altars on display, and entertainment.

Gotta say, kind of amazed at the amount of haunts connected to current content like Chucky, The Last of Us and Stranger Things 4 and Evil Dead Rise. Kind of amazed they didn't make a Twisted Metal one.

The full line-up of the fear that awaits follows in eight haunted houses and Universal Studios
    Hollywood’s exclusive Terror Tram:

      -  “The Last of Us” engrosses guests in a struggle to survive against fearsome Clickers, Bloaters, and more from Naughty Dog and PlayStation's award-winning video game.
    -    “Stranger Things 4” transports guests to Hawkins, Indiana where they will face off against the evil Vecna in the fourth season of Netflix’s original series.
    -    “The Exorcist: Believer” invites visitors into a terrifying new beginning in horror, as two families battle a sinister demonic force that has possessed their young daughters.

Knott's marks its 50th year of scaring the Hell out of SoCal residents for 2023, making them an institution of frights.

This golden anniversary's lineup includes three new frightening mazes (for a total of 10), five sinister scare zones and four hair-raising shows. Guests can expect to uncover unforgettable experiences that will usher in characters from Haunt history. The 50th year of Knott’s Scary Farm starts on September 21 and runs through October 31, for a total of 29 terrifying nights.

There will be nowhere to hide as hair-raising scares loom around every turn, with the debut of our newest terrifying mazes, a newly reimagined fan-favorite scare zone, and a gruesome lineup of new shows. These new haunting experiences add to the original scares that can’t be found anywhere else.

    New Offerings

Cinema Slasher (Maze) – Venturing through the mystical Midnight Theater, guests travel through the silver screen and into a trilogy of slasher movies. As they are swallowed into the world of gothic horror, they become the movie characters who try to escape the wrath of the dangerous Slasher. Will everyone survive, or will they become forever ensnared in the decaying reality from a bygone era? The conniving Midnight Theater wickedly opens its doors, daring those brave enough to buy a ticket to Cinema Slasher!

The Chilling Chambers (Maze) – In honor of the first maze in Knott's Scary Farm's prestigious history, the "10 Chilling Chambers" is a ghastly new attraction that gives a nostalgic nod to Scary Farm's past while terrorizing the audience of today. Guided by The Keeper, the sinister caretaker of the conservatory of horrors, guests are thrust beyond the threshold of an ominous towering cathedral that leads to terrifying classic maze themes from Knott's Scary Farm's infamous history. Scream from countless fears of seasons gone by as 50 years of terror are unleashed in The Chilling Chambers.

Room 13 (Maze) – Violent murders at The Blind Tiger interrupt the Prohibition-era revelry on Memory Lane. A dangerously delicious new cocktail named The Devil’s Elixir seems to be at the root of the mayhem, but where did the mysterious green aperitif come from? The answers may lie at the heart of the extravagant Argive Hotel, where many have checked in to Room 13… but none have checked out.

The Gauntlet (Scare Zone) – In this reimagined version of the fan favorite, classic characters return to invade Camp Snoopy, but with an updated twist. Guests will again encounter the King and Queen of the realm, maniacal jesters, brutal barbarians, wicked wizards, and lawless peasants. They’ve all returned with an onslaught of fresh terror. All Hail the King or suffer the wrath of The Gauntlet!

Dr. Cleaver Returns (Show) – Your favorite demented doctor is back for more Halloween hijinks! Grab a seat at the world-famous Bird Cage Theatre for a wicked journey into the great beyond.

The Hanging: Uncancelled (Show) – The Lawman has returned to track down the vilest villains of the past year in this pop culture parody stunt extravaganza. No one is safe when the gates of the Wagon Camp swing open.

Music, Monsters & Mayhem (Show) – “Music, Monsters and Mayhem” takes you on a scintillating and provocative musical journey celebrating 50 years of terror and frights. Featuring a rockin’ score, wild laughs, and a cast of singing and dancing monstrosities bound to get your heart racing with screams of delight!

See Ya, Headed To PAX West & Nintendo Live

We'll have coverage from both Nintendo Live and PAX West next week. Oh, and it looks like Nintendo Live might be yearly, however it doesn't stay in the USA, it's head to Tokyo next year!

With Pax West, hoping to dominate some of that Jackbox Games at their stage and trying out Tee K.O. 2 a month before its release.

Square's gonna be there with the statue they had at AX and Cheez-It will have a big booth for some reason?

"Every day of PAX West at SQUARE ENIX’s booth (booth #803), visitors will be able to get hands-on time
with many of SQUARE ENIX’s upcoming games, including FINAL FANTASY™ VII EVER CRISIS, STAR OCEAN™ THE SECOND STORY R™, Little Goody Two Shoes and Infinity Strash: DRAGON QUEST The Adventure of Dai. Attendees will also be able to compete against each other in the first-ever consumer hands-on of the vibrant and frantic new online multiplayer game FOAMSTARS™, as well as check out new content coming to PowerWash Simulator.

But playable games aren’t all that visitors will be able to experience from SQUARE ENIX at this year’s event. At the booth, attendees will find many spots to grab the perfect photo of a giant statue of Ifrit, the massive Eikon of Fire from FINAL FANTASY XVI. Additionally, fans will be able to participate in a digital photo activation to snap a photo with Cloud and Zack or choose Midgar as their background from FINAL FANTASY VII EVER CRISIS to share on social media using hashtag #FF7EC. Fans who pre-register for the game at the booth will enter a raffle for a chance to win a FINAL FANTASY VII EVER CRISIS T-shirt.
