Cole's, a classic LA restaurant is closing after 117 years. You have 'til August 2nd to try their very well know French Dip, which they say they invented, but it's up for debate.
It's that special time in a young man or woman's life when their parent or some other family member drags them to a giant flower that smells awful. Yes, The Corpse Flower dubbed "Green Boy" is about to open up and reek of human death at the Huntington. Check out their website for when it is in full bloom and if and older relative drag a child or teenager to it as the defy you or or horrified over the concept.
We love the shirts for the event. Designed by UK artist, Candy Joyce, this graphic tee celebrates the Corpse Flower blooms at The Huntington.

One of our favorite tourist traps and local nonsense purveyor sadly had a fire this July. If you've never been, it's a super strange museum on par with The Mystery Shack from Gravity Falls. We wouldn't take much of the info in their seriously.
The Museum of Jurassic Technology suffered fire and smoke damage on July 8th. Still under investigation, it looks like arson from someone pushing something on fire through their door mailbox slit.

From what we read over on TimeOut LA there's 4 photos booths to try and perfect to grab some photos on a date or with friends. 3 old-school machines where you'll have to wait for the photos to dry, the place even has hair dryers to speed up the process. And a retro style machine, that takes digital pics.
Not sure about the exact deal, but it looks like the place will digitally scan the photos too if you want them for something else online.
After sadly watching Jurassic World: Rebirth we can tell you we're so much more hyped for Predator: Badlands. Why? Because it looks fun. It looks like the director is having fun with the sci-fi world the characters and monsters are drawn from. Rebirth isn't fun, it isn't playful. And, not blaming the actors, but the writing and chemistry between actors is extinct. It got so much more money and marketing. Heck we posted on the 7-Eleven pop-up on it multiple times. However, I can't recommend it when any other of the Jurassic Park movies would have been better. Use it to fall a sleep when hits streaming.
So save your movie budget for November and see Predator: Badlands for Thanksgiving.
