WHAT THE CLASH? Review: Gotta Hand It To Them

High-five and thumbs up to WHAT THE CLASH? a new game up on Apple Arcade from the same makers of WHAT THE GOLF?. This new online game puts you in the form of an anthropomorphic hand-faced creature in which you play mini-games. You play with other hand-faced creatures randomly and unlock cards (to modify games), bling features and in-game currency to buy said bling.

It grabs you as being a very addictive in short bursts phone game. Great for commutes or a few minutes in-between something when you've got nothing to do.

Take my hand and I'll explain why. Gameplay, though simple enough, can be addictive with very simple controls, but gets mixed up with the random cars you and your opponent toss in the mix. So, ping pong is suddenly a lot weirder with the addition of a fish as a ball or archery is out the window with the addition of motorized fans.

This is all done within the playful and tickling-sort of art style of the WHAT THE series of games. Visually it looks great. Heck, I loved the console concept for choosing games. You see, games are randomly chosen between you and your random opponent and stuck in and old school cartridge console. Whomever wins 3 games wins!

*A fun little thing to look out for is other things that shouldn't be put in a console  can sometimes be picked and put in. And in doing so unlock weird mini-games unlike anything you can normally play.

I found myself playing it at least once a day to unlock my next level which is done by your character having a birthday and getting a new present which could be more cards to modify games to a new game to play itself.

Another great one from the WHAT THE series, perfect for on the go fans of the series.

Power Rangers x Fortnite

Woah, didn't expect that combination. But, Power Rangers are coming to Fortnite this Aug 7th. Major props to whomever directed the live action portion at good ol' Vasquez Rocks.

Horror Hype: Strange Harvest & Shelby Oaks

It might be Weapons weekends for some, but Strange Harvest will be in the more independent theaters around LA. Don't pass up this great looking new found footage film set a county over in San Bernardino. Out in theaters this Aug 8th.

We guess it's got some cred with Mike Flanagan producing, but oh yeah, the trailer totally sells it. Out Oct 3 in theaters.

Game Hype: Street Fighter 6 Bikinis and Trunks, TEKKEN 8 — ARMOR KING, Marvel VS Capcom: Ultimate Complete Works & Shantae Swimsuit Special

Well, Street Fighter 6 is going to horny jail and Tekken 8's latest DLC character ARMOR KING gets an insanely long trailer for what's clearly a large cat's head put on a a human body as a quick design choice from whenever he was initially added to the game. Remember the heads are masks, not literal big cat heads.

Staying withing the confides of fighters, here's some details on the upcoming release of an updated version of the MARVEL VS. CAPCOM: ULTIMATE COMPLETE WORKS art book. It will be available from retailers and online sellers everywhere on November 4, 2025.

Hype: Found Footage: The Making of the Patterson Project, New Panty & Stocking & The Way of the Samurai: Film Series Inspired by Ghost of Yotei

Can't praise this horror comedy enough, Found Footage: The Making of the Patterson Project might be the best horror comedy of 2025. Radio Silence (SCREAM VI, READY OR NOT, ABIGAIL) are the producers of this hidden gem and they totally knew this could be a cult hit. With characters worthy of The Office and mismanagement of a first feature Bigfoot production akin to the show as well, you'll find yourself asking what new problem will these idiots contend with next. You'll find the footage a laugh riot. It's on major streaming services for rent.

And, be sure to check out the web-site for the film, a real specially made web-site for the movie
The Patterson Project and call the number after the movie  CALL 1-844-PAT-PROJ

If you haven't, watch the dirtiest and stupidest anime on Prime, New Panty & Stocking. It has no good promotion outside of AX. I'm not sure how anyone will find out about unless you have some social links online to current anime. Every episode gets dumber and mocks so many different movies/shows/comics.

Sony has seemingly done something cool with the fact it does own a theater chain now. The Way of the Samurai: Film Series Inspired by Ghost of Yotei starts this weekend and you can head to our own Alamo Drafthouse to check out films related to the games style and setting.

"This August, we invite film lovers and modern-day ronin alike to step into the cinematic world of honor, vengeance, and swordplay with Way of the Samurai, a curated film series inspired by the upcoming PlayStation® release, Ghost of Yōtei™. From August 2nd through September 4th, select Alamo theaters will showcase five iconic samurai films that helped define the genre: LADY SNOWBLOOD, LONE WOLF AND CUB: SWORD OF VENGEANCE, THE TALE OF ZATOICHI, 13 ASSASSINS, and RAN."

Halloween 2025: V/H/S/Halloween, Dracula Musical/Ballet, Muppet-Like Monster Cereals & Universal Horror Unleashed in Las Vegas

V/H/S/Halloween the next film in the horror anthology series has a date and has announced the directors. Coming to Shudder Oct 2nd, a new bag of messed-up directors is inside. We've got Bryan M. Ferguson (Pumpkin Guts), Casper Kelly (Too Many Cooks), Micheline Pitt-Norman & R.H. Norman (Grummy), Alex Ross Perry (Her Smell), Paco Plaza (REC), and Anna Zlokovic (Appendage). As reported by BD.

Hoo boy, who know how weird Caper Kelly's segment is gonna be.

Did I forget we have Dracula Ballet? In any case, it's back in the LA area Oct 24th and does look bloody good. Only two nights!

But wait, there's even more Dracula with Dracula The Musial starting this August. And, it is a rock-opera version!!!

"Director Justin Meyer has this to say about the upcoming production: “Dracula: The Musical will enthrall audiences with its powerful score played LIVE by our house rock-band, its soaring operatic vocals, its high-flying aerial acrobatics,  its richly ornate costuming and its blood-splattering special FX, Themed Cocktails and Mocktails! This show is rarely done in the United States, so this will be a very special opportunity for Wildhorn and Dracula fans to come out and see it done in the round a truly unique and epic way that only The Nocturne Theatre can do!”"

August 8th-August 31st, 2025 The Nocturne Theatre, 324 North Orange Street, Glendale, CA 91203
Price: $44.50-$73.50, with booking fee

General Mills’ Monster Cereals had a collab with the Jim Henson Company for some fun looking boxes this year. Count Chocula, Boo Berry, and Franken Berry all have Muppet makeovers. Just to remind you, Disney owns the Muppets, but the style and just making fun looking puppets separately still exist in the Jim Henson Company. So no Kermit the Frog on the box.

Finally, Vegas wants some of that haunt money and has a new year round horror attraction. Universal Horror Unleashed in Las Vegas.
