SoCal Haunts & Experiences 2025

Here's our 2025 guide to all the haunts you can shake a broomstick at. It's divided into three sections, Wholesome Horrors for kids and family. Haunts for those old enough (FINE PRINT-by legal standards of those haunts...or needing a guardian, because theme parks aren't daycare)

And, Experiences, where you're part of the show and probably can't escape!

Wholesome Horrors

Disneyland wants those kid dollars so Halloween once again starts first at this house of mouse. Special decked out rides, goods and food are all in a Halloween style at the parks. And, special trick-or-treat missions seems like another experience you can pay for. Check their site for more info.

Starts September 14
Natural History Museum
$10 per person. General Admission also required.
Free for Members. Reservation required.
*Please note that tickets are for 30 minute time slots

"This one-of-a-kind seasonal pavilion gives you a rare glimpse into the secret life of spiders. Stroll through the open air pavilion to see hundreds of orb weavers and their amazing webs all around you. Then enter the spider den to peer into enclosed habitats that house different species from tarantulas to jumping spiders. Along the way you'll hear amazing stories and get answers to all your arachnid questions from our Museum Educators."

HAUNTS

Select Nights, Thursday, September 4 through Sunday, November 2
100 Universal City Plaza, Universal City, CA 91608

Here's the many Halloween brands you find in the park this year via mazes and the tram ride:

Terror Tram: Enter the Blumhouse, Five Nights at Freddy's, The Terrifier, Fallout, Jason Universe (hate that name), Horrors of the Wyatt Sicks (WWE Superstar), Poltergeist
and then originals like Scarecrow featuring music by Slash, and Monstruos 3: The Ghosts of Latin America. Yes, the music by Slash thing is a weird pull, but the man loves horror. So, you're coming here for pulls based on movies and shows you know. Not sure if Poltergeist is still that poular, but whatever.

Select nights from September 18 through
November 1

"Knott’s Scary Farm is the longest-running and most haunting Halloween theme park event in Southern California. With over 50 years of nightmares, unimaginable scares and innovative thrills, Knott’s Scary Farm has left no tomb unearthed, no crypt un-rattled and no fear untouched.

New Offerings

Mary - The Haunting of Worth Home (Maze)
Venture into that creepy house at the end of the street.  Within the walls hides a terrifying secret. No one foolish enough to go in there has ever come back out alive.  But I’m sure this time it will be different, right? Be careful not to stare into the mirrors too long…you never know what’s staring back from the other side.

The Zoo (Maze)
Something has taken over the abandoned zoo.  What was once a lively showcase of exotic animals has been transformed into a terrifying laboratory of animal/human experiments.  Hybrid creatures have turned on their creators, and the compound is crawling with mutant soldiers thirsty for revenge. Rumors are swirling that the mutated monsters are planning something that will change everything!

We're glad Dark Harbor is back, the whole Shaq themed Halloween was funny, but made no sense. And they never used the name Haunted Shaq.

One of our favorites of the season. You get on a hayride and get driven into the scares. We've enjoyed the different themes per year and hope they keep coming up with some awesome new ideas.

This year they've team up with Elvira? Yes, the Mistress of the Dark is part of the scares this year with a specially themed haunt and her voice being part of the hayride itself as your own night DJ.

Always considered the top tier haunt to do, we can't wait hear how this year goes.

Abandon All Hope Ye Who Enter Here

The famed inscription adorns the arched entryway leading into the belly of Pagan’s Path; a supernatural cult that has taken the metaphors of Dante’s Inferno far too literally, seducing followers through the circles of hell as a necessary preparation for the afterlife.

Like previous Delusion productions, Harrowing Of Hell furthers their novel “moving play” concept. Guests move through a storied venue as they play their part in a haunting, live narrative that unfolds around them.

For 2025, we will also introduce a vastly improved lounge experience that encompasses two floors. Enjoy themed spirits, food, and seductive music to revel in your sinful ways!

"Part twisting haunted house and part badass theatre attraction, URBAN DEATH TOUR OF TERROR will reach into the depths of the darkest corners of the human psyche to bring you their most horrifying show yet. There's nothing family friendly about this haunt anymore, folks... The monstrous freaks are here to terrify and shock you to your core! After facing the spine-chilling and often risqué maze upon entrance, guests will be treated to a captivating live show consisting of a series of shocking and bloody wordless vignettes and mind-blowing physical performances. Guests will then face frightening new creatures hiding within a reversed version of the scream-inducing TOUR OF TERROR maze on their way back into the real world. "
