Local: Capsule Corner & Other Strange Vending Machines

MINIMINIGAME

Located in the Hive Art Gallery downtown you may spot this "micro-gallery." One we might have missed from our Strange Vending Machines In LA collection. We have a new entry:

729 S Spring St. Los Angeles, CA 90014
Located in Hive Art Gallery
Hours: By Appointment Only or when an exhibiting show is open

These capsule machines contain the work of an artist for about a month or multiple artists. Right now, you can see what's in the machines here. It's quite a colorful collection based on artists we've mentioned on the site before; many related to video games, some fictional.

The price ranges our from $5-$15, but they sure are cute collectibles.

Capsule Corner also does mini gallery shows, check their site for future shows around LA.

We've got to admit we want some of these special items adjoined to our keys.

Local: Netflix Is A Joke Festival, When Animals Attack Movie Marathon, Anime Ice Cream & More

With Covid restrictions being lifted, though it looks like you'll need to be vaccinated to see these, comedy festivals are coming back to town. Netflix is going all in this Late April, Early May with a huge one.

"Netflix Is A Joke: The Festival is the first ever LIVE Netflix Comedy Festival, April 28 - May 8. We’re pulling out all the stops and taking over LA with all your favorite funny people. We’re talking standup, podcasts, exclusive screenings, and more! Get off the couch ‘cause you’re not in front of the TV anymore -- you’re watching LIVE comedy in LA, baby! HOLLYWOOD! 100+ shows. 25+ venues. Plenty of traffic."

We're warning you know as some shows have already sold out, hopefully they add more. But, you should go threw the huge list of comedians and grab seats now. And even the women we thought had died, Wanda Sykes is apparently alive and doing stand up at it too.

Another heads up for a few months down the line...

A furry free-for-all of a horror marathon -- an arkful of angry animals here to clear the decks of humanity!

After centuries of pollution and arrogance, it’s about time we’re taken out by Mother Nature. As such, these six mystery feature films are stocked to the gills with critters ready to unleash a bounty of guiltless killing. So root for the rooster and rally for the rodents, as bands of measly sapiens fend off creatures big and small -- and bigger!

Hype: Cuphead Show Sours & Mother Schmuckers

Pretty accurate review on par with what we think of the new Cuphead Show. We'd only add the voice talent is pretty bad. The t-shirts from iam8bit are pretty ridiculous.

Mother Schmuckers finally comes off the festival circuit.
 Available in Theaters March 4th, 2022 & On Demand March 15, 2022

It got some pretty bad reviews, it' supposed to be pure cringe stupid with plenty of gross-out humor.
