Dude Bro Party Massacre III
Fri, Oct 6 , 9:45pm
Vidiots
4884 Eagle Rock Blvd.Los Angeles, CA 90041

A satirical twist on the gory and sexually-charged 1980s slasher genre, Dude Bro Party Massacre III is presented as the only surviving VHS copy of a reviled horror franchise’s third—and final—installment. In the wake of mass murders on Chico’s frat row, loner Brent Chirino must infiltrate the ranks of a popular fraternity to investigate his twin brother’s murder at the hands of the serial killer known as Motherface. As they are picked off one by one, Brent and his fellow Dude Bros must face the terrifying reality that their deadly foe has returned from the grave, and is hell-bent on the destruction of the Delta Bis. Featuring cameos from Larry King, Patton Oswalt, Greg Sestero (The Room), and Andrew W.K., Dude Bro Party Massacre III is a subversive and hilarious tribute to ’80s slashers.

35mm can be beautiful, but 16mm is *personal*. This six-feature marathon of extrajudicial slayings at the hands of cloaked madmen is more “who wore it best?” than “whodunit?” These savage shrouded looks come straight from the archives of Secret Sixteen: L.A.’s siqqest hand-picked collection of this wondrous film format.

Join Secret Sixteen founder Mike Williamson, Josh Miller (Friday Night Frights) and Bret Berg (Museum of Home Video) for a 12-hour blast of cutthroat comforts. Titles aren’t revealed until they unspool onscreen — you’ll thrill to a mask lookbook full of leather sacks, taut bandages, Chanel-like numbers, dreamlike skullwork, military camo and surrealist art. Have a knife night!

Chris Miller (former Spanish child star Marisol) lives with her stepmother Ruth (Jean Seberg, BREATHLESS) in a large secluded mansion in the countryside, but their isolation is soon interrupted by the arrival of a mysterious young drifter named Barney (Barry Stokes, PREY). When a scythe-wielding killer begins stalking the area and racking up a body count, it’s not long before the two women begin to become suspicious of their new handyman. A bloody, twist-filled giallo from acclaimed filmmaker Juan Antonio Bardem (DEATH OF A CYCLIST) that’s been difficult to see for decades, THE CORRUPTION OF CHRIS MILLER is a masterpiece of early 70s Euro-horror, newly restored in 4k by Vinegar Syndrome.

Deborah Kerr brilliantly plays a repressed governess convinced that ghosts haunt the mansion and grounds of her innocent young charges (Martin Stephens, Pamela Franklin). Jack Clayton’s gothic psychological thriller was inspired by Henry James’ The Turn of the Screw and adapted with the help of Truman Capote.

After receiving a string of unsettling letters from her father, Arletty arrives in a sleepy California coastal town called Point Dume. Dad is nowhere to be seen. Instead, Arletty finds a town full of drugged-out burnouts, barren shopping centers, and... something else. Echoing everything from Herk Harvey's CARNIVAL OF SOULS to Mario Bava's KILL, BABY... KILL!, MESSIAH OF EVIL is a swirling vortex of Lovecraftian terror, analog synth attacks, and grisly bloodshed from the team who'd later go on to make HOWARD THE DUCK. Marianna Hill (HIGH PLAINS DRIFTER), Michael Greer (FORTUNE AND MEN'S EYES), and Elisha Cook Jr. (THE MALTESE FALCON) star in this unjustly overlooked major work of independent American horror that's primed for (re)discovery.

Deck the halls with boughs of holly… and terror! Director Tyler MacIntyre and genre-fave scribe Michael Kennedy bring to life an entirely new take on a yuletide classic in It's a Wonderful Knife. Funny, smart, heartfelt AND utterly bloody, this destined-to-be a holiday classic stars Jane Widdop as Winnie Carruthers, who finds her life even more complicated when she stops the rampage of a local serial killer. When things do not work out as planned, Winnie wishes she’d never been born and finds herself thrust into a different reality and… well, you may think you know the rest, but trust us when we say this brilliant slasher plays with all expectations.
