Los tallos amargos (The Bitter Stems), is a gripping and surrealistic film noir. Carlos Cores stars as Alfredo Gaspar, a down-on-his-luck journalist who partners with a Hungarian immigrant to create a fake journalism correspondence school as a get-rich-quick scheme. They find success initially, but Gaspar grows paranoid, and through a series of dream sequences, we see his psychological state begin to unravel.
 Guest speakers: director of the Film Noir Foundation, Alan K. Rode; and screenwriter and filmmaker Guido Segalfree Q&A session about the theatre will follow the screening. Stay in your seat to learn more about its history and architecture!
