"While [police officers] were running after the suspect, the witness who
directed the officers to the suspect drove past them in a vehicle and
struck this suspect, injuring him," Katz said. "The officers arrived and
took the suspect into custody without incident. He was identified as a
suspect in a homicide that had just occurred in the 600 block of Shatto
Place."
