For one day only, the street will be reimagined as Hawkins itself, where the familiar collides with the mysteries of the Upside Down and fans come together for one last adventure.
We’re going full 1980s, and everyone is invited to join the fun: show up as your favorite Hawkins character or monster of the Upside Down, or channel peak ‘80s vibes with neon, leg warmers, windbreakers, or any totally awesome retrofit.

Each work follows strict rules: only one box, almost zero waste, and every printed word must stay readable. Premiering in 1964 on CBS affiliate KNXT (now KCBS), Ralph Story’s Los Angeles (1964–69) remains one of the most fondly remembered series in L.A. television history (and one of the most requested items in the UCLA Film & Television Archive’s collections). Created by Dan Gingold (of KNXT's historic The Big News broadcast), the locally produced Ralph Story’s Los Angeles explored the history, personalities and landmarks of L.A. in one of the first newsmagazine-styled programs on television. Foregrounding the warm, wry personality of newsman and commentator Ralph Story, the local Emmy-winning series earned high television ratings, often outperforming network programs in prime time. In later years, the innovative series inspired an entire genre of popular local TV programs covering the unique landscape of Los Angeles, including Visiting With Huell Howser.

This fall, The Broad presents Robert Therrien: This is a Story, the largest museum exhibition of the late artist’s widely-adored work to date, on view November 22, 2025 to April 5, 2026. Therrien’s meditations on scale and material are a deeply influential and well-known approach within the field of contemporary sculpture, significant to The Broad’s own identity as a museum, and long admired by visitors of all ages. The installation will showcase Therrien’s personal vocabulary of images and symbols—from enormous tables, chairs, and dishes, to intimate drawings of snowmen, birds, and chapels—as they become a language of continuous creation and transformation for the artist over time.

Neither myth nor monolith, Los Angeles is many things to many people, and its dissonance is perhaps its most distinguishing feature. The works presented in this year’s biennial include film, painting, theater, choreography, photography, sculpture, sound, and video. Attitude draws them together: Each engages with this city in ways alternately literal, formal, material, and metaphoric. Conceived or made in Los Angeles, they are of this city and nowhere else.

Drawing
is a skill, gained like any other through study and practice. Combining
the movement of the hand with the dedication of the mind, drawing was
considered the foundation of the arts of painting, sculpture, and
architecture since the Renaissance. Proficiency in drawing was critical
for exploring, inventing, and communicating ideas visually, but how was
this foundational ability actually learned? This exhibition explores
artistic training and the mastery of drawing in Europe from about 1550
to 1850.
