Gotta say there's lot of comedy shows at The Largo right now as comedians can't write for shows and movies during the strike. Great to see a lot of big names in person.

It's time to get your passes for the 19th Annual Hollyshorts Film Festival ~ August 10-20 in Hollywood, California! 

The annual Academy Awards (if it happens this year) Qualifying HollyShorts Film Festival will celebrate its 19th year August 10-20, 2023.

Some Fair days are ticketed, with limited tickets available at the door. No one is turned away for lack of funds. Advance registration is highly encouraged due to limited capacity in the building and crowdflow. Ticketed days help support this non-profit production.

Initiated in 2013, the LA Art Book Fair (LAABF) is a celebration and international gathering for artists’ book publishers to distribute their work, connect to a broad audience, and nurture new and longstanding relationships. The Fair will feature a wide range of artists and collectives, small presses, institutions, galleries, antiquarian booksellers, and distributors, as well as a full calendar of book launches, discussions, performances, and special projects that highlight interdisciplinary artists’ publishing practices.

It's one of our favorite festivals of the year, sorry Chinatown's Golden Dragon Parade/ Festival. Check out Little Tokyo over the next two weekends to see it come even more alive than usual with a parade and festival booths. Streets will be closed off for the parade this weekend on the 13th, so you might wanna park a little further away or take the Metro.

Grand Parade

Sunday, August 13, 4 - 7 p.m. | 1st & 2nd Street, between Central Avenue and San Pedro Street

Stop by and visit one of the largest Japanese American parades in the country. The streets of Little Tokyo will be filled with Japanese dancers, displays of vibrant colors, festive music, talented musicians, floats, and more.

The bus tour will kick off at Milk Bar where the iconic bakery will be handing out their delicious slices of “Birthday Cake” with a Red, White & Royal Blue makeover (while supplies last). The bus will then make its way over to Rocco's and Hamburger Mary's for additional stops of karaoke, giveaways, and more.
