Everything is Terrible! is the video and performance collective that is responsible for some of the internet’s most hilarious and bizarre videos. EIT! has posted daily re-edits for 11 years that have been culled from the mountains of dead media on the verge of abandonment by humanity. Some of their most widely shared videos include the creepy yoga farmer Yogi Ogi Dogi, the pedophile-hunting Yellow DinoCat MassagePubic Hair Dying, and of course, the demi-child-god Duane.

One of Studio Ghibli’s three co-founders, alongside filmmaker Hayao Miyazaki and producer Toshio Suzuki, Isao Takahata (1935–2018) has created a body of work that is delightfully eclectic. This retrospective includes all of Takahata’s Ghibli features, beginning with the stunning World War II tragedy Grave of the Fireflies, as well as a selection of the theatrical films he made earlier in his career.

In AIR DOLL, the Galatea myth is transported to present day Tokyo, when an inflatable sex doll named Nozomi (Doona) finds that she has grown consciousness and a heart. She begins to wander the city in quiet awe and fascination and, taking on a new life of her own, discovers the innate complexities of being human, including the heartbreak of loneliness. Joining forces with cinematographer Mark Lee Ping-Bing (In The Mood For Love), Kore-eda’s intimate direction relays the struggles of finding human connection in the mess of modern society.

The first major retrospective of the groundbreaking video and performance artist.

A pivotal influence on contemporary art for over 50 years, Ulysses Jenkins (b. 1946, Los Angeles) is a groundbreaking video artist who emerged in the late-1970s. His video and media work is remarkable for its fusion of forms to conjure vibrant expressions of how image, sound, and cultural iconography inform representation. Using archival footage, photographs, image processing, and elegiac soundtracks, Jenkins pulls together strands of thought to construct an “other” history that consistently interrogates questions of race and gender as they relate to ritual, history, and state power.

Sparks are the influential art pop duo of Ron and Russell Mael, whose career spans more than 50 years. The Los Angeles–raised brothers are widely admired for the wit of their lyrics and the inventiveness of their music, plus their effortless ability to shift genres between glam, hard rock, chamber pop, and electro disco, sometimes within the same song. The only constants are singer Russell's dramatic, heavenly falsetto and energy, and keyboardist Ron's exquisite songwriting.
