Anime Expo 2019 Preview

We're now a month away from AX, so we're gonna share the latest news if you aren't connected to all their forms of social media or e-mails.

Getting In, Where It's At

First off Anime Expo is taking place July 4th-7th at the Los Angeles Convention Center. It's the largest anime convention in the country. There is a preview night July 3rd, but it won't have access to the Exhibition Hall, but it's only $20.

As of writing this, for all four days it'll cost ya $126. For a one day badge it's $40 - $75. But a reminder, Saturday and other days always sell out. So buy now or chance on not getting in at all. Get your badges here.

As always, if you're not coming super early in the morning we recommend Uber/Lyft or public transportation. Check out all the ways provided by AX, including free shuttles and public transport to get to AX.

Schedule/What's Happening

This year has been a bit different, usually the schedule comes out 2-3 weeks before AX happens. This year an early schedule is up, but isn't fully done. More events are to be added leading up to AX. So, you gotta keep checking back in.

As of write now, nothing has really got us going, "Woah!!!!!!" We'll have a highlight list when more gets added.

The biggest events so far are

Otaquest Live

The Novo
800 W Olympic Blvd
Los Angeles, CA 90015
$40.00 - $250.00

This has some of the biggest names in Japanese music coming here stateside; in what will probably be over the top performances.

The performers:
m-flo
Kyary Pamyu Pamyu
HIROOMI TOSAKA
CAPSULE
CrazyBoy

Otaquest Kickoff is a later event featuring Japanese club artists Taku Takahashi, Yasutaka Nakata, and TeddyLoid. It's a different admission at $30.

Whose Coming?

Exhibitor list this year is once again missing two favorites: Nintendo & Capcom. Really odd as E3 will have taken place the month earlier, they could have just left their booths in storage here in LA. Favorites like Nis America, Bandai Namco America, Viz Media and I say Funimation, but man there booth for the last couple of years has been pretty boring.

Check Artist Alley's list to see if your favorite T-shirt maker we'll be back in town.

What To Wear

Check out the new shirts and hats of AX. These can sell out pretty fast, so grab it early.

That's it for now we'll have updates to catch you up as they come in our a round-up of news for any big news.

See ya at AX!
