Star Wars Laughs and Lightsabers

Though the movies hits the screen this Thursday night, we don't see many special Star Wars events, cept' that lighsaber battle downtown and these comedy shows. No bar nights!?

It is a period of Civil Peace. After Return of the Jedi, Chewbacca moved back to his home planet of Kashyyyk. There was a small Wookie parade, but soon the galaxy forgot about him and his hero friends. Han no longer calls and Leia never invites Chewie to any galactic cheese and wine parties. Chewbacca has fallen into a deep depression... that is until his friends arrive to show him the true meaning of Life Day (Life Day is just Wookie Christmas, get it? It's a holiday-themed Star Wars comedy show, ok, see you at the theatre!

With The Death Star destroyed and The Dark Side in shambles, it’s time to get a little blue by ripping everyone's favorite Millennium Falcon flying, Chewbacca friending, Princess Leia marrying smuggler a new asshole! From the Imperial Guard to The Rebel Alliance, everyone's joining in to roast the galaxy's favorite playboy Han Solo!

From Newmindspace and Lightsaber Academy comes Lightsaber Battle LA 2015. Coinciding with the release of the film the event ask you to join the dark side or the light side of the force with a massive duel taking place in Pershing Square at night. The event hopes that the Jedi and Sith come out in the thousands.

Don't worry if you don't already own a lightsaber, they're selling their brand for $10 that can be picked up at a nearby gallery before the battle begins. Yes, you get to keep it and the lightsabers can change to six different colors.
