TDILA has been waiting for news on this film since 2011. We interviewed its director, David Levy and Alex Cunningham, at the time lead designer, so many years ago. This post-apocalyptic short film started as a failed Kickstarter, but it's teaser was so enticing it got the buzz on major film sites. Starring Natalie Floyd as Leila Dawn, we see her struggling in world as the last living human, now she searches for any biological life. She was raised by robots in a world now ruled by them. A film that looks heavily inspired by anime finally get screened Saturday.

Art

Exhibition of Art by Mari Inukai
Opening Reception with the Artist: Saturday, Oct 25, 6:30-10:00 PM
October 25 - November 12, 2014
Giant Robot 2 (GR2)2062 Sawtelle Boulevard Los Angeles CA 90025
from press release:
The Marilla Blue and Orange exhibition melds two worlds of Mari Inukai. Her expressionistic portraiture is now blurring and stepping into her other world, the imaginary. Her fictional characters, a team of illustrative creatures, which are part of her canon, appear as headdresses for her portraiture subjects. Facial expressions continue to appear pensive, yet inviting us to wonder. Inukai's pencil drawings continue in the same direction.
