Weekly What To Do: Everything Takes Place Aug 9th

Aug 9th is a day that will live in infamy as a day this Summer when way too much was happening. So many events are going on at some of TTDILA's favorite venues it's tough to decide what to go for.

Festival/ Convention/ Market

Nisei Week
Aug 9-17
Little Tokyo

This nine day tradition celebrates Little Tokyo with festive activities and special events. Booths, games and specialty food will be all around Little Tokyo and at the JACCC Plaza Festival starting Aug 9. The Grand Parade will be Aug 10, with much fanfare as the streets of Little Tokyo are shut down for the community to stroll around in. The entire event continues into the next weekend. Be sure to check the full schedule at the official site for something that might grab you.

Celebrate the First Annual “Nagoya Day”, commemorating the 55th Anniversary of Los Angeles and Nagoya’s sister city, no I haven't heard of thie before either. In lacking any common sense the event will not be taking place in Little Tokyo during Nisei Week, with a number of Japanese events already taking place.
