Sugar Rush Real Video Game, Why Not Disney Interactive?

As soon as I opened my copy of The Art of Wreck-It Ralph I was reminded of the feature candy-coated racer that was Sugar Rush. Featuring sugary-sweet vehicles and racers on tracks of ice cream and cakes. Things that were seen a scrumptious to lick and chow down, no trick traps. Who would look a sprinkles the same again.

The featured artwork of what a Sugar Rush race might looks like featured in the book once again has me asking the question to Disney, "Why no real Sugar Rush?" Word is Wreck-It Ralph 2 is in development, yet no video games based on the racer.

Going back to the Annie Awards the year Wreck-It Ralph came out I had a chance to talk to the director of the film, Rich Moore. I asked him upfront why no Sugar Rush game. He took me by the shoulder and said, "I don't know!" Rich would love a game too.

To me it's such a loss for fans and for Disney. The game idea, mechanics and racers are already there. That isn't to say the game wouldn't still need time to develop to be made into something than cheap racer. Currently Disney Interactive's only title is Disney Infinity. Can a giant media group like Disney not make more than one game?

Can it not find a developer or even ask those who worked on the movie, many who work on games to help them create a masterpiece racer that could rival Mario Kart?

If the time and effort was spent on it they could have a real racer loved by all ages with wonderful, colorful, candy worlds.

These images are just a taste of what could be.
