Facebook Buys Oculus Rift For $2 Billion Why?

April Fool's Day did not come early, Facebook just announced buying the virtual reality company, Oculus Rift for $2 billion. They're aren't any specific details on how the Oculus will integrate with Facebook as of yet. The main question is what Facebook saw in virtual reality being the future for people and how it can make it profitable.

From owner of Facebook, Mark Zuckerberg's statement, Oculus technology will allow everyday life interaction beyond gaming. Mark brought up putting people a live sporting events, virtual classes and even visiting the doctor.

How long any of those ideas will be able to be integrated seems like a ways off.The Oculus Rift virtual technology is still in a developer phase and not even available to consumers.
