Nisei Week Begins This Weekend

Another Nisei Week rounds out another LA Summer. With special events, parades and plenty of festivities. The Japanese holiday Tanabata is also celebrated, where whishes are asked to come true. You write you wishes on a small piece of paper and attach it to bamboo.

Large paper lanterns are usually hanged near the MOCA, but might be moved to an new location because of the outside art on display.

There will be booths all over Little Tokyo and live music for both the Plaza and Summer Courtyard Festivals.

The official website is still infuriating in poor design, but you should be able to find your own fun.

The calendar of events page is the easiest to see whats going on.

The Kinokuniya Book Store in Weller Court has it's summer sale this weekend so be sure to catch the deals.

The Grand Parade will be this Sunday and funny enough it will have a cosplay portion.
