Fantastic Fest, Wish It Was in LA

Today marks the beginning of Fantastic Fest in Austin, Texas at the Alamo Draft House. This is considered by some one of the best events to attend in the US. I agree, completely. There selection trumps any other I've seen with international and domestic releases the encompasses my interests of horror, b-movies, absurdity, Japan and video games. I'm sure I'm missing other stuff as the fest just surpasses all others in America.

Where it's held the Alamo Draft House already makes it a winner being one of the most beloved theaters in North America, but also allows you to eat a full meal while watching a movie.

The movies selection is of course the main reason for attending. Here are some of the highlights, but these are only a small part of a larger festival.

Rubber- A tire gains telekinetic powers and starts killing people. Yes, it's awesome! Opening night!

ip Man 2- The Master of Bruce Lee kicked much ass before Bruce Lee did. Watch him beat up a bunch of jerks with a horrible back story that makes the movie strange. Did I mention martial arts leaping from table to table while play hot lava rules.

Legend of the Fist- Even more Kung-
Fu kicking action.Martial artist Chen Zhen (Donnie Yen), whose legendary showdown against a dojo full of Japanese warriors ended with his apparent death, though his body is never found.

The Life and Death of a Porno Gang
Adult movie director Marko steals money from his mobster producer Cane to create his masterpiece: an experimental black and white erotic horror film. When the film bombs and he can’t repay his boss, he slips away with the cast and crew to produce live porno-theater in the Serbian countryside. Then it gets weird
Norwegian Ninja-if you want funny insane adventure you need to see Norwegian Ninja. Seem like a breakout favorite.

Rare Exports: A Christmas Tale-they've captured Santa, how much is he worth ?

There also showing Joysticks, one of the best video game movies up there with The Wizard and a chiptune movie Reformat the Planet.

What's even cooler is the arcade. Which many are to get drunk at. Yeah Fantasti-cade. Really called Fantastic Arcade. Indie games galore.

Don't see Buranku though it sucks
