Famima's are awesome, except for the people who work there

When I visited the awful Museum of Jurassic Technology I had to head to

10704 Venice Blvd Culver City, CA 90232

Think of stepping into a squeaky clean Japanese supermarket with a layout like a Mac computer. The stores carry a wider selection of products with a more Asian flavor in mind. A couple exist around LA, but not in any locations convient to me.

Many were planned to open in America, but plans fell through and many shut down. Famima is owned by the widely-know in Japan Family Mart. In Japan Family Mart and Lawsons are common place convient store like our 7/11.

The only problems with Famima are the lousy employees and the lack of Slurpees or Icee. Many Famimas I've visited have just jerk behind the counter. I don't know there hiring practice, but they need work. For Slurpees the reason is strange and a little bit about culture.

Slurpees don't sell well in Japan.

The Japanese hate Slurpees and Icees. I've read about in Japanese travel books. The 7 Eleven's of Japan don't carry them and since Famima comes from Family Mart they share some practices.

The rude and annoying employee told me they were going to open a new Famima in Union Station soon. Check it out and hope the employees don't suck.
