Aggretsuko @ Sanrio

Aggretsuko merch is in Sanrio shops. The new Netflix series about a female Japanese office worker who is also a red panda who vents during karaoke is a fun little series you can get into. Our favorite product has to be two rolls of Aggretsuko toilet paper featuring scenes from the show like they're a manga in pink.

Little Tokyo Open Last Weekend

It was the last weekend of the Little Tokyo's 9-hole pop-up miniature golf course, The Little Tokyo Open. We would say it was more for little kids and their parents then teens or adults. Each hole was suppose to represent something about Little Tokyo's culture our history, they were a bit hit or miss, just like our play through. A different artist was suppose to create each hole, so they would all have a different look. Though, one artist did get two holes, I guess they didn't get enough applicants.

It was very funny to be scored by little kids following behind us during our game. "He went 6 times," said the little score keepers.

Those who played a game got a free t-shirt when returning their club and ball. A nice memento of a little course in Little Tokyo.

Avengers: Infinity War Cast Tour & CyberGarbage

Check out some of the cast from Avengers: Infinity War  touring LA and making a stop at Golden Apple Comics on Melrose.

Also check out CyberGarbage from some of the people who made The Attack on Twitch, but since that show is now dead, they're making this. It's an... internet show.

Famicase 2018 Entry Super Fun Crazy Jonathan Game Show

Our graphic designer Andrew Gallardo and myself, your editor, have entered into Famicase again this year. Famicase is an annual art show in Japan featuring work from artists all over the world of fiction famicon or "NES" games. This time, I came up with a take on the Japanese game show, mainly stolen from Takeshi's Castle. Andrew's mind wandered with it and apparently I became a big-headed version of a delinquent from Stanley Kubrick's a Clockwork Orange instead of the game show's host.
Here's the game synopsis: Contestants, are you ready to face whatever Jonathan has come up with? You and up to one other friend can see who can win, Super Fun Crazy Jonathan Game Show! Master the courses, don't fall in the slime pits and whatever you do, don't get Jonathan angry! He's king of the castle and he is a cruel game master. So become the the number one big man in Japan. Can you beat Super Fun Crazy Jonathan Game Show!

Will share more on this year's show from different artists as more of their art is revealed online.

Can't Wait To See A Movie Where Gondola to Dodger Stadium Falls

A proposed gondola line that would hang over the 110 to Dodger Stadium is up for Metro approval. It would start at Union Station and allow an alternative way to get to the stadium beyond our clogged... This just in.

SPECIAL REPORT

We have word that some disgruntled former baseball player has taken over one of the proposed gondolas and says he'll start throwing out hostages unless his demands are met.

Oh, wait it looks like the new drone copters KTLA 5 and many other local news teams have proposed are getting footage of what appears to be a police officer at the top of the gondola.

Shots are being fired through the top of the gondola, but the officer on top has dodged them by the skin of his teeth.

Now the officer is breaking through the glass window and trying to subdue the disgruntled player  whose wielding a baseball bat.

Oh, no! The disgruntle player has a hostage. He's pointing a bat right at our cop hero and signaling he'll drop the hostage with the bat. A young women who could be played by anyone who looks like that she's in her early  20's. There's now a scuffle.

The hostage is safe and the cop and baseball player are now both on top on the gondola fighting each other.

It's swaying as it enters the stadium, but since the Dodgers asked for too much money to be in the film the Angeles are playing.

Oh, the disgruntled player swings at the cop and misses. He missed again. On his third strike he misses and he is out...out of the gondola and a falling to the bases. And he just misses home plate.

Looks like he isn't safe. (wink)

Oh, not, but the proposed gondola isn't going to make it, the disgruntled player's bat made it into the wires up top.

It's coming down!!!

Oh, luckily the Elon Musk invited inflatables are puffing up. Looks like they fell into the stands, but everyone made it out safe. Except for that disgruntled baseball player.

Katie Rice ‏& Vera Brosgol Getting Sh*t Done

First up, Katie Rice, who we've liked for a long time, let us never forget her Skadi, is gonna be a director on the Animaniacs reboot. She's pretty good a drawing ladies, so let's hope the show still allows for Hello Nurse or it might be like the new PPG, where Ms. Bellum went bye-bye.

Vera Brosgol, another lady we're a long time fan of, cuz of her web-comic and her graphic novel Anya's Ghost, that's being turned into a live action film, just released her newest graphic novel, Be Prepared. It seems like it's a semi-autobiographical take on her experience at camp as a child. And it's all kinds of messed-up childhood trauma. It's a delight for young and old readers. Hopefully, she'll get her own directing gig that has something to do about Russia in the future.

The Getty Villa Finally Redone

The Getty Villa is finally done, after three long years, it's done. Oh, it has been running for years now, but different halls and areas have been closed as pieces have been moved around for a new look. Now, finally, after years, all of The Getty Villa is open for museum-goers to glimpse into the past. *Hopefully, they can fix the pool next.

Read more about it here.
