Halloween Stores

Burbank brings you  Dark Delicacies which recently moved. It just at a new location, which actually has more life to it. This is a year round horror store. They have a great collection of clothes, books, dvds and more for Halloween.

3512 W Magnolia Blvd

Burbank, CA 91505

Halloween Town is another ear round shop, I've never been, but it's so close to Dark Delicacies why not pop in. Also if there open year round the must being doing something right. This is where you go for costumes and decorations.

Shrine is located on Melrose and if you want a hot goth outfit you come here. It's a goth paradise and perfect for a lady to pick up a haunting dress.

One of my earliest posts  Los Angeles County Corner's Office Gift Shop better known as Skeletons in the Closet. There's still nothing quite as morbid as heading here. Just get your parking pass and your good to go. You'll find the staff pleasently quite happy and helpful.

Horror To Watch

I'll have some more movies to watch as Halloween approaches, but right now check out Dead Set coming to IFC channel. Imagaine Big Brother, but with Zombies. This is straight from Britain, my friends have all given it a thumbs up.

I saw the first episode of The Walking Dead at a friends Zombie Party. I'm sad to say it sucks. The director and I believe show runner Frank Darabont did a terrible job. My friends and I all hated it. Some of my friends recently read the Walking Dead comic from which it's based and said how Frank change to much of it.

The pace of the episode is very slow and only get interesting towards the end. Special effect wise the zombie look great, but cgi gun shots and flies look terrible.

Also camera work and music layout seems odd. For one there is no underlying music to set the mood till a intense scene that doesn't fit it. One scene has the camera focus on one zombie for way to long ( around the tank scene).

I didn't see the second episode so hopefully it get s better more into the show and the episode Frank didn't direct.

Sadly, I couldn't get Zomo off my tape so here's the first page of my script for Zomo a comedy short making fun of Bruce LaBruce's attempt to make another gay zombie movie and not telling the actors what was up.

Drenched in Blood Contest

Hey Readers,

Wanna another contest? Well, got a Drenched in Blood one for you. The good folks at Funimation are sponsoring a killer prize. How about a copy of Frankenstein Girl Vs Vampire Girl, Here's my review. Now this movie has it raining blood. Take the gore level up as high as you can then raise it up some more. Not enough blood? Update: the winners will also be recieving Zombie Blood from Harcos Labs.

So whadda ya gotta do for this prizes? Simple get DRENCHED IN BLOOD!It's quite easy, get some corn syrup from your local supermarket and some red food coloring, mix with water and you got some blood. Now dump on your head.

Drench yourself in blood than take a picture of yourself. You could use ketchup, but it doesn't work as well. If you can think of any other ways to drench yourself in a blood like substance go ahead. The most inventive and funny will win. Contest ends Nov 2.Pictures will be displayed on the site.
Send your pictures to [email protected]. Include your full name, address, and phone number. Subject line put Drenched in Blood. Sadly, only CA residents may apply.

Vampire Girl Vs Frankenstein Girl

What the Hell is going on? I saw previews for this for a while and had to see it for jus how bizare it was . Here's the trailer.
So anyway, ever fall in love with a cute girl whose a little demanding? How about a girl whose a vampire and wants to make you her eternal servant. What if that girl has some competetion from another hot young lady who happens to be the daughter of a Japanese Dr. Frankenstein. What you get is a ocean of blood!

Take the gore factor as high as you can raise it and you have Vampire Girl Vs Frankenstein Girl.

The movie is another great film to see with friends and just laugh at who thought up such a insane, mesemerizing plot of wierd ideas. Oh, it's cheezy, but it's meant to be. This film is B-movie gold.

I don't know what scene to articulate in to written words over more the cutting yourself contest or the raining blood perverted photo-op.

Just some of the inner thoughts of the minor charcters will having you reeling in laugher or make you think WTF. The kooky doctor with his nurse make everything just stranger with their dance numbers. There's a slight build-up to the big fight, but it's worth it for the absurdity of it all.

House

I haven't done this in a long time and face it my interviews haven't been happening for a while.

I was reminded to watch House because one of my favorite blogs Sci-Fi Japan

So let me review House or Hasu. This world class B-movie of  legend has been on my Netflix que for a long time. Sadly only a region 2 version has come this close to America. Until now it comes out October 26th on dvd and blu-ray in America.

Let me tell you House will f u up. This B-movie masterpiece has the great, may I say art of making every location a indoor set, except 20 seconds on a bridge, other than that every location is in doors. Now thats insane.
Questionable incest oh it's here. Evil cats with a looped meow. Terrible special effects it's got them. Stupid girls representing the 7 deadly sins. People turned to fruit, and body parts that can move on thier own.

This movie will just throw things at you that you wouldn't except. At the start you think you'll figure it out, but by the end you'll just be lauging at the absurdity. Plus, did I mention 7 cute girls.

House is a must for a big group of friends its a A+ of what a B-movie should be. Here's the trailer, but I say this is the must have rental for Halloween.

America, how you doing? And another freaken Superman related event

The topic seems excellent to follow current American culture which sadly isn't rising to many high points. It always good to reflect on your culture and the show will either piss you off or make you think maybe America needs to improve itself.

TRUSTOCORP

from 1988 gallery:
This month, covert street art conglomerate TrustoCorp brings it's unique brand of mischief and mayhem to Los Angeles for their first west coast exhibition titled 'New Americana'. The exhibition focuses on the decay of the American Dream and absurdity of modern American culture. Known for their satirical and politically charged street signs, fake products and other illegal art installations, TrustoCorp brings a hardcore and sometimes comical perspective on the state of American culture. 'New Americana' will feature a wide range of new paintings, sculpture and interactive art installations including carnival games and a very special collaboration with speaker company Klipsch and DJ Fred Wreck of Tha Dogg Pound.
