So catch however much you can handle of the film until it ends playing March 3. The film takes place over the course of 5,000 years so there's that.

Just some random toys I've seen online or in my adventures. Pokemon Pot isn't some sort of new type of item to give to your Pokemon to chill out, but some sort of mini trash can adorned with a Pokemon head.

Hasbro... what the Hell? Dive Attack Spider-man with flippers and Stealth Ninja Spider-Man both awful ideas. Spider-man looks more like a samurai or paladin knight then a ninja and why is he a ninja? MAKING QUICK CASH IS WHY! But the Bakugan Vs Marvel has to be the dumbest decision ever from Marvel. Who asked for Lumagrowl and Red Skull? Who? No one did. No one Hasbro. Please fire whoever did this. Also, why only Red Skull, such and odd choice.

Amazing to see Bandai toys having virtual reality toy packaging. It still amazes me that it's anime division here is dead, but it's toy division is fine and unaffected by that loss. Bandai seems like a retarded company in that way. I just think corporate just never cared enough and that's why things went bad for Bandai Entertainment. via

Almighty Heroes is a line of bible heroes with partial stories from the bible included. I find it very odd the direction they went with Moses. BTW this toy line doesn't seem to have enemies to fight against.

The Amazing Spider-Man Secret Screenings

Starting tonight, LA is suppose to have projections of the Spider-Man symbol going up with chances to see a secret screening of the movie this February. Where? No idea, but probably downtown or Hollywood. Close to the the projection should be a website giving the info on how to RSVP for the screening so be on the look out. The U.K. got there's earlier today from the photos with this post. Doesn't this seem more like what Batman and WB marketing should be doing with his bat signal? Oh, WB marketing don't show up at Anime Expo unless your bringing Thuunder Cats news this time.

After just visiting this place once I want to live here. Your house is right next to the canals, so you can go just hope in you boat and take a ride around your neighborhood. Each house had either an eccentric feel or looked recently remodeled. The tenants seem to have very minimal fears about break-ins or theft as most of the residents have open porches front yards or are so close to the sidewalk people can look in.

It's adjacent to Venice Beach, Santa Monica Beach and Abbot Kinney too. The only problem might be parking, with very little street acces once ou enter the canal part.

Back to the canal itself it's just beautiful and with the sunset last night it made me want to go boating even more. Now I have to go for the Venice Canals Christmas Boat Parade.

Anyway, you might have heard about the new anime Madoka Magica from me way back from last Anime Expo or in the anime hype section. If you don't know it's a new take on the magical girl genre with much darker undertones. Think Sailor Moon, but much much darker.

Anime Jungle is of course holding it with Aniplex, there are other anime places, but I can't think one with as much merch as an Anime Jungle in LA.

If you can, do cosplay it just majes events better and is the only time you can wear those kind of outfits.

What I though might be an eccentric restaurant with a heavy Japanese theme turned out to be simply lackluster. I'll say off the bat that service was great and fast. It seemed to be only lady servers in torn grunge look tee's. So it has some nice points. The name alone made me want to see what their deal was.

When you get to the meat of it, there isn't any. Though the burgers have a great look, there tiny, tiny little things not worth the price. When you pay ten bucks you should get something filling. I ordered the Buta Burger, which only major difference was having bacon added. I would have been happier at In-N-Out

Decor wise the place doesn't seem to know what it is. I went with a friend who visited Japan and is a Japanaphobe like me and it just missed it's marks. It had big red Formica picnic tables inside, where as I imagined a more diner like place. Some strange art, but nothing that Japanese or eye catching. This awful music blasts in the place and it wasn't even Japanese or even Asian it was like Reggae or something.

Back to the food, the fries were good at 3 bucks, with yummy dipping sauces. The menu isn't huge, it's very rigid. They due have a bar with a fun selection of drinks. Yet, nothing was over the top.

For someone who loves Japanese culture or just making fun of it, Fuku misses on both accounts.
Forget about finding parking.

Futurama Monopoly Review

Good news everyone! You can get your Futurama loving hands on Futurama Monopoly. Your damn dirty primitive hands can hold Bender's head or the Planet Express Ship as you careen through the universe of the game board. I've been to the future and the future is monopoly.

My friends and if your my friends you should stop calling me those things and stealing my wallet. I had to play Futurama Monopoly with friends. Not like attaching people hands to cats like you do, real friends. So I invited them over in that every side of the board had a non-cat behind it, and damn it we had fun.

As one friend suggested we watch Futurama in the background on a low level of sound, I told him to cram it, as I just watched the entire last season in preparation of playing the game. Yet, he wasn't dismayed for he fell in love with the instruction manual. I remarked to him, "Good sir, I will tell others of how well written and easy to understand the manual was for you, you jerk, who is such a nerd he derives pleasure from a game manual", this wasn't in words as much as it was a gesture of my hand in his face.

As we munched on processed food and everyone else drank water as I drank soda, we played the game of delivery boys and space aliens. Fun on a bun to you all, the game is a perfect melding of Monopoly and Futurama. The places Fry, Leela and Bendo I believe he's called, Bendo the magnificent, are all captured on the board to cruelly remind you that even in cartoon you must pay taxes. I immediately had fun as did my non-cat friends reminiscing about the show and gossip about friends who won't live long.

Details like the Good News Everyone cards and Attention Puny Human cards make the game a delight. Even more so if you sound like the Professor every time you pick it up and say, "Good News Everyone!". Each card seems to have a fast drawing done by ol' Matt Groening for when he wasn't riding he's money powered snow machine on his mountain of money on his money Peninsula. The game tokens, now silver, no longer gold, bring back memories of the show, how could I not be the Brain Slug? Some details due seem a bit lazy, the boards four corners retain the same art form the original board. I think it would have been easy to add a little Futurama theme to Jail or Free Parking, like at least free space ship parking or have the cop team that beats up Bender be at the jail space. Resi-Domes and People Hives are funny enough switching out hotels and homes, but maybe they could have looked like the Planet Express Hanger. The hotels could have been the Professor's tower. I don't know I guess they work, both will choke a baby.

What didn't work was my game, my friends commented I should go to Vegas with how I never landed on property, but always the card spots. I almost died of thirst from yelling "Good News Everyone!" so much. Sadly, I only came in second with how much money I had, I still was bitter and was plotting the death of my non-cat friends.

Futurama Monopoly is a charming take on the game and works well for any fan of the show or of Monopoly. Add it to your collection or something bad might happen in your future. I've been to it, I know.

Also, I almost died seeing Al Gore being on the $500 dollar bill.

Looks like a group of eager young artist need your help to pull of a independent zine fest. What strange comics and topics could come out form this event if it happens? The Last Bookstore will be it's home if and it does have a lengthy list of exhibitors signed up.

A vending machine that distributes zines, DVD's and music here in LA. Sounds neat and it means I don't have to talk to another human being while purchasing something.

The nerd wants to make a movie help'em out if you can, I'm, sure it'll be filled with cussing.

Alex Albrecht from Diggnation, Kevin Pereira of G4, Nerdist Host Chris Hardwick, Doug Benson (you have to go to one of his Doug Benson’s Movie Interruption here in LA, so funny) and so many more. Mega Man Buster Vases

I love Mega Man! I've loved the character and his world since my childhood. I liked how Mega Man started out as a simple helpful robot and really Dr. Light's son, but when Dr. Wily's robots attack he loses his more human looks and becomes a hero. The dynamic between him and his brother Proto Man, having a robotic dog, that talks, who he can fly on and having a powerful buster cannon that can shoot an array of different attacks, he just rocks.

I call them "Buster Vases". What's great is I can pretty much plant anything in them to mimic any of Mega Man's attacks, simulating whatever light show of death Mega is packing. I decided on classic blue white flowers for the Mega Buster Vase and yellow flowers for the Proto Buster Vase, which both mimic the robotic brother's attacks.

The idea just came to me one day. After that, whenever I was in a place with vases I looked for one that looked like a buster cannon. With a lot of help from an artist friend I painted them in a day. Three different coats for the vases allowed for the yellow to shine through. Then I simply picked the plants I wanted for them and stuffed them in.

Some of the reasons I made them were from my friends Sky Burchard's work. If I was rich I'd hire him to just mod everything I own to be from a video game. IAM8BIT's constantly cool art show and work, I kind of wanted the vases to be in the last show, but didn't make them yet, also I'm not an artist, so I don't know if they would even let me. Capcom, for their constant fun events that come through LA. I can't think of another game company that gives so much back to fans through events ... (cough) Fright club in LA would be nice. Miles Donovan's work from The Daily Robot site. I own both Blues' and Rock's buster schematics he did. I"ll probably put them behind the vases.

I guess the only other thing would be asking Capcom to give me the blue bomber for Ultimate Marvel Vs Capcom 3. Zero is a zero in my heart.

Oh yeah, almost forgot my "E-Tank Watering Can". I saw a blue watering can on my way out of a hardware store and just grabbed it and did a quick paint job.

UCLA Has A Japanese Garden?

Or did. It's seems there's a secret garden, a secret Japanese Garden called Hannah Carter Japanese Garden. It's located a mile away from the prestigious college and well UCLA wants to sell it for some quick cash, because there saying times are tough, even with all the money that students give already.

It's huge garden and requires special reservations to even go to it, but it was/is free. Only two parking spots allow for private views for one hour. It saddens me to learn about it during the time it might be sold and is shut down. I'm really amazed UCLA can't figure out a system of maintaining it or having students help out at it, maybe if it's so close be part of a course or something. Who wouldn't want Japanese studies in such a spacious area? Also they could rent it out for Hollywood like every other institution in LA. Every school I've been to from elementary has been used to film something.

The Carter's, the family descended from the people who gave the money for the garden, were outraged that they weren't contacted by UCLA about the situation. The deal for giving UCLA the money for the garden wa that it maintain the gardens forever. But now UCLA doesn't care to keep promises for people who have shown kindness in the past and given them money.

It's sad to hear about it shutting down at the Huntington's Japanese Garden is set to re-open in April and just visting the somewhat old, simple titled Japanese Garden on Woodley. Those are far from UCLA.

Hopefully, someone buys it to preserve it and get a nice tax write-off, if not, it might be destroyed for a rich person's private water slide park.

Damn, it looks beautiful. They should at least aloow people to visit it before it's sold.

Why Nick Swardson's Pretend Time Sucks

It's about a lemon and it sucks hard. Recently, I had Comedy Central playing while I left the house and when I got back Pretend Time was on. One sketch in the episode was about a black man hating Martin Luther King, because he owned a sign store that sold white and black only signs. Now that's funny, but the joke is milked. At one point the black man goes through all his signs including those for white only lemons. At this point it's still funny, when suddenly the black man picks off a lemon from a tree and tries to eat it, but is stopped by the gaze of a white man.

Who bites into a lemon picked off of a tree?

What it screams is lazy writing, no one's checking or going over skits and how much the show doesn't care. It doesn't care that the tree should have had apples. They didn't re-shoot that scene or took the time before it was shot to go,"Hey wait, these lemons should be apples". I know it's a minor thing, but it shows how little care is put into the shows writing.

I have other problems with the show. Most ideas in the show seem like not much time was put into them or usually go nowhere. The strange bar scene in each episode where Nick's talk to the audience to break the fourth wall are out of place.

I'd would however, like to praise whoever does the technical side of things for transitions through portraits and such and all the props and special effects, but the writing and comedy are just lazy.

My god does Sony marketing want you to buy it's crap. I honestly thought an ad was playing and tried to skip it before realizing it was the trailer. Let's be honest the series is just fun and action packed, not gonna win anything for writing. I still don't know how or why they tried to make more movies after the world ended. That should have been the closing of the series and to anyone else write them into a corner, but no Anderson just keeps going. I'm gonna miss Wesker.

I just never got Jon Glaser's series about a man in the witness protection who has to wear a ski mask and have he's voice permanently altered trying to make it as a celebrity in New York. The show is downright strange. Writing that seemed strange.
A live-action show on a network for cartoons is a tough sell and I haven't been enjoying this one on Adult Swim or the others. Sorry Paul Scheer, your funny, but I hate the show SVU-whatever.

The series starts off with Jon being part of witness protection trying to make it as a star and moving to New York city to star in a reality series. Soon this falls apart as does his marriage. Jon is a dick, there no doubt about that he's a huge dick. Who says awful things and treats people like garbage.

Some episodes border on the truly wacky, some examples are: Jon still in full ski mask and augment ed voice opens a "rage cage" where you given allotted time to smash things, this leads to a romantic relationship, all in 11 minutes. He gets angry at his sons Bar Mitzah that he paid for and isn't thanked enough about . He wears a suit of small dogs. Mostly Delocated! with Jon seems to be a new take on I Love Lucy, coming up with a quick scheme to make money, get noticed, or just to be liked. Jon fails every time. There's a whole plot of the Russian mafia being after him, but they seem so unnecessary to Jon's egocentric ways that always take him down anyway.

The show always stops from just being laugh out fun, it has plenty of funny comedian guest stars, not working to their full talent. It's from PFFR who I'm quite sick of at this point being on Adult Swim. I don't get there strange work. It borders on being sick with no punch line. Like a joke about murder, where there is no joke, just a murder.

Sure, there are some moments that might make you crack up, but it just shouldn't have gone on that long. It has the second season with episodes length longer now at 22-minutes. Remember when shows were 24 minutes with commercials, those were the days.

If your into the show the collection comes with a nice menu, deleted scenes, and commentary. You'll even get Jon Glasser's pitch and he's probably more to blame than PFFR. I'd say catch an episode before you get it, but if you loved the series it's all here.

Astonishingly enough, Season 3 of Delocated will be coming out soon after a 1 year hiatus.

Hello, Resurrection of Christ story through Japanese entertainment with special effects rivaling Hollywood. Gantz II: Perfect Answer takes place after the events of the first film with Kei Kuruno still putting up the good fight against other world aliens in Japan. Is it a good fight? Gantz the strange black ball supports Kei and other resurrected people through hi-tech weapons and suits that give people super human power.

Now if your caught up, Gantz II isn't a perfect sequel to the first film which introduced us to the Gantz universe of a video game like world where after you die, your brought back to fight aliens by a strange black ball with a man hooked up inside of it. The film still has stellar special effects and some amazing scenes, but it is the weaker of the two films.

What I loved was the amazing choreographed fight scenes and futuristic technology and weapons. I can say this is one of the only Japanese films where I've seen special effects given there due. The process of transportation is still great to see where only parts of you come through sort of like a printer. Everything from people exploding from delayed guns. Let's explore them for a second, there's a gun that will cause things to explode, but causes a delayed reaction ,so a few seconds after you fire does something actually blow-up. This is somewhat horrible if your someone whose been shot , because you know it's gonna hurt bad.

A fairly long action scene takes place on a subway train filled with innocent people, things go bad, very bad. (Spoilers) At one point the subway train is cut in two which just looks phenomenal. The hero Kei on one side and evil alien on the other. The trains drifting apart. Kei has to make a jump to the other side. Part of the same train fight has Kei is flung from the train and he seems to pop into view of average people, showing off how strange this fight is. Regular people don't get it, but superhero like fights are going on. You always feel somewhat grounded that these strange fights aren't natural to the world.

Finally, a one last over the top violence fueled splatter face with and ending of aliens vs Gantz fighters is like Gears of War levels of carnage. Explosions, alien goo, blood and bullets all over the place in a nice apartment. I have no idea how anyone gets out of that and lives. You have guns and delayed weapons going off just a few feet from each other, then some sort of explosion that rivals the death star's end just on a smaller scale. You still have the light shining out of it just like the remaster death star explosion.

Where the film doesn't have a bang is the darker nature of the story and some over-acting. I'm not blaming the actors for the over-acting it was obviously written that way. There's just sections of dialogue about how much some of the Gantz people who loved each other dragged on. Kei's poor girlfriend Tae gets dragged into the fight with aliens and has a scene where she gets sliced multiple times and unbelievable keeps going to hold hands with Kei one last predictable time. It really slowed down the movie. It all can't be violence, but it also all can't be two people talking while the world is ending around them.

You never feel that sorry for the antagonists this time around, they keep saying it's for revenge, for the killing the Gantz fighters are doing. The aliens however slaughter innocent people and why their on earth on the first place remains a mystery as well as what Gantz really is or why it doesn't want aliens on Earth. It seems like most aliens wouldn't even attack humans if not sought after by Gantz. I just loved the different aliens and video game like missions from the first. You also felt bad for a little alien kid exploding in the first, but not this time around. This time around the aliens are just creepy.

There's a whole other arc of Gantz member vs Gantz member that I hated, it made humanity look so bad. It happens in seconds and makes me hate the other characters for being so monstrous that they'd take a innocent person's life for their own. The ending is so depressing for our main hero Kei who now embodies a Christ like motif for what he's done.

It truly is best to see the first film before this one to get to know all the characters and story better. You will want to see what happens in the end after watching the original. It seems like they may have wanted to do three movies and just crammed in as much as they could before the end.

Gantz Perfect Answer actually comes with a DVD copy and and a bonus disc. Visual and audio looks great in HD and there is both dubbed and subtitled options.

Artist such as Zac Gorman, Glen Brogan, Olly Moss, Kevin Tong and other internet well-knowns and 1988 alumni remembered there favorite shows. It was a night to remember murder and blood shed and how stupid cartoons can be and still make us laugh. Fan favorites seemed to be Dave Listfield's and Glen Brogan's works. Glen wrote that he had planned out his Harvey Birdman piece a few years back and went back to rework it. Yet, his Space Ghost piece sold out right away.

Seth and Matt were both in their nerd element and were chatting with fans and signing posters. They are total nerds at heart and are happy to talk to fans. They just celebrated their 100th episode airing on Adult Swim last Sunday.Word on the street is their helping create some of Star Wars comedy show with Lucas.

The silliest part of the night might have been how fast people got in line to get the pieces. From to the line outside to the line inside ,it seemed people knew what they wanted right away. Could it be the resellers market online be that good or do people know what they want right away. Some seemed to pick up their posters and exit immediately into the night. They should have stayed and checked out the show, everybody was let into the pool that night, it was free swim.

Kosaka’s sculptural and performative installation Kalpa will transform the Getty Center’s Tram Arrival Plaza with an enormous spotlight, Butoh dancers and hundreds of spools of colorful thread placed on a wall designed by architect Michael Rotondi.
In Sanskrit, kalpa means eon—a long period of time. In this performance, Kosaka builds a symbolic parallel between kalpa and the inevitable passage of time that slowly transforms lives, histories and memories.

Hyperdimension Neptunia Mk2 is up for pre-order. The game that makes fun of the consoles by making them into goddesses is back.

Glen Brogan has proven himself to be my favorite video game artist with his "Ye Olde Mario World" which accurately captures the over world map from Super Mario World. I really should have devoted this whole Game Hype to him, but I've already showcased two other pieces of his work for the Adult Swim Show. He simply wants this as a shirt, I want this as a giant poster. I've shown it friends who instantly wanted it as their backgrounds as is currently mine. Time and thought was definitely put into this grand map for accurate it is. He even captured Star Road and as a friend pointed out how the pipes work. Glen, please try and make this into a poster through fangamer or some other group, it's to majestic to just don a t-shirt. It needs to be revered as a print or a poster.

Cue Disco Theme Song with the monster high school girls as pop stars! Rosario + Vampire Season 2 blows away the first with fan service, high school hi jinks, and boobie lasers!

The show finally just has fun and cares less about battles and more about awkward romantic comedy situations that only a monster high school that isn't based on a horrible line of toys can be. So what's new, how about a bratty pig tailed sister for Moka our resident cutie pink vampire. It turns out that her little sister is a total brat and only loves Inner Moka, the white haired one, for some reason the bigger boobed version of her sister is the one she loves and admires. All of Tsukune's harem is back and more flirtatious than before.

Moka's little sister Kokoa constantly gets in the way of Moka having a peaceful life the season. Her introduction is that of a murderer telling her victim she's going to kill them. She also takes a smaller character from the first season into a new light. The bat Kou-chan or Kou-buddy that tells how long fights last is also her servant and can become different weapons, kind of like a weapon person from Soul Eater. Ruby, the other witch girl, now works at the academy in different odd jobs. She also loves Tsukune, but doesn't fight over him as much as the other girls. She usually makes a short cameo explaining it would be too long a story to explain specifically what she's doing and starts blushing. Uber cute for a goth girl, she also has a great story about making every girl on campus switch to a longer skirt that of course will never last long in the series.

Different episodes center around different girls, each attempting to win over Tsukune, while other episode puts in new monsters, all episodes are just far fetched and in the anime genre of high school love comedy with simple miscommunications going awry or some odd morals being somewhat attempted to be learned.

The direction for this show by it's director was " let's see how many panty shots we can get this time". It's as though the camera gets bored of people talking and looks and panties,perverted old camera. There isn't one episode I can think of that isn't about fan service shots. Moka falls down, skirts are too short, the girls are hanging up something high, it's time to bathe, all these reasons and more for panties. Yes, they have the hot springs episode this season and just like Sekerie's Season 2 "Examination Day", where bust sizes are measured, Yokai Academy has one too.

On the other side you have great slapstick and comedy with the girls. They"ll talk dirty to each other or do boob jokes or just start fighting each other.

One episode had me laughing all the way through with "Pretty Boy and a Vampire". A new pretty boy in school takes away Tsukune's harem. Is he a vampire? What power does he have to entice every girl on campus. Sayin "Je t'aime", seems to have some strange effect on the ladies and will be insantly added to you vocubalary after watching. The new pretty boy sings a song so corny you"ll cry from sheer repetitive Frenchness.

"Mother and Child and a Vampire" was another episode to grab me with pure fun release. It's Parent's day at Yokai and Mizore's mother Tsurara and Kurumu's mother Ageha show up thinking Tsukune is in love with their offspring. There is then an all out war between the two hot moms that hated each other when they went to Yokai Academy. It's so funny to see Yukari's witch parents not say anything in the episode.. They just weren't allowed to have lines it seems. The two moms hand out terrible advice two their daughters and eventually both fall for Tsukune too with a naught fall on top of them moment and I think some fresh boob grabs. Why Tsukune? N , idea. Yet without him Kurumu's mother Ageha might never release boobie lasers in a later episode to which I gasped at and laughed at in astonishment.

The second season will always be held high in my anime organs if I had them. The second series is non-stop laughs and panty shots perfect for perilous gazers of fan service here in America. The series could have just been about cute girls with magic, but the odd monster element makes it more than an average cartoon it makes it only something the Japanese could come up with and think of as normal idea. Strange new setting and exploring some of the human world with more freedom to not just have battles, but dumb love triangles makes me want to stare at every episode.

Audio and video look great again, and the dub team even wen the extra mile of dubbing songs in English, which they normally don't do. Yeah almost every girl has a song this season for some silly reason. The DVD menu switch between some of the girl s dressed in school uniforms to lingerie again. Extras have clean opening and closing themes, but nothing like an OVA.

Pick it up to see one of the best boobie animes that just missed being released in 2012, Je t'aime.

Wow, just a few days from the Paly Center Panel you have another Q and A with the people behind Napoleon Dynamite. Which I hope is cancelled immediatetly. I don't recall if Fox bought a season yet, so let's hope it just dies off.

Why hate it? Well, it makes relatively no sense to come out now, years after the movie was popular. I never cared for the movie, but I've seen some other work from it's creators and enjoyed it. All it seems to be is a lazy attempt at something, when the people involved could try and make something new and better.

Fright Club Not In LA

San Fran gets both a Gantz 2 premiere this weekend and Capcom's Fright Club showing off Resident Evil Revelations and Operation Raccoon City. Sadly, neither event is scheduled for LA. If you want one here, ask on Capcom Unity boards.

I'm truly sorry I didn't attend this year's Anime Los Angeles 2012. It being smaller than AX makes me a little hestiant to try it. But a moment like this, when someone as Professor Oak with people dressed like Ash and Misty collect balloons to have Pikachu float over ALA( Anime Los Angeles), it makes me wish I did.

What? Clone Wars was shown on Adult Swim? This piece is going to seem so out of place with real Adult Swim shows. I had to look on wiki to make sure Eric Braddock's piece wasn't a mistake.

Wiki "It aired on Adult Swim at Midnight/11c on Saturdays nights. It was removed from the Adult Swim Schedule as of 9/28/2009. Only series to simulcast on Cartoon Network and Adult Swim, without fully switching from one to the other."

It's kind of like the worst choice and could have refelected Star Wars specials for Robot Chicken or Family Guy.Then you have Glen Brogan who made this great Birdgirl piece, that he even re-did from a piece he never released. Harvey Birdman Attorney at Law was one of my favoire adult swim shows and it's something that made me a fan of the network Drew Falchetta's piece is a fun Birdman, too.

Yoda? What the...? Give me Korgoth of Barbaria or the Xtacles if your trying something no ones seen on Adult Swim. Rare fun pilots that only fans have glimpsed at. I guess I'm going to ask Eric if he's there. Why pick Yoda when you had such a vast amount of characters from so many different shows?

Wow, Vampires and anime, I guess that's what my main site focus has been about been lately. The fan service filled delight known as Rosario + Vampire: Season One recently released from Funimation might have fueled that.

I'm gonna start by how a friend who saw just a glimpse of this a few years back before it was dubbed went insane by how much fan service this dolled out. It might be beyond or equal to Sekirei Season 2 fan service and definitely more than Heaven's Lost Property, which is saying a lot. Funimation must have wanted a boobie filled Christmas this holiday season with all these titty filled title released at once.

So lets go into the oddball harem anime that gives us monster babes in high school.
Tsukune Aono can't seem to make it to a new high school, which doesn't make much sense, but maybe in Japan you have to pass tests to enter different high schools? Anyway, he's Dad went drinking one night and picked up a brochure to a mysterious high school.

Every thing's fine on his first day. Why all the graves and tombstones leading up the Yokai Academy are nothing to give any mind to. Ooh, a hot girl with pink hair crashed into him. The class starts and the teacher seems like hotty with a cat fetish. Oh, wait what did that guy just say, this is a school for monsters? Yes, Tsukune has made the common mistake of thinking a high school called Yokai (Monster) Academy would be normal.

Ahhh, he starts freaking out, but not enough when the totally cute pink haired girl wants him to stay. Moka Akashiya wants him, not for his body, but for his blood. Yup, she's an uber cute vampire. After a fight that is incredibly fast, so fast that a cut vampire bat/ hamster thing tells you, you see Moka's transformation into a S Class vampire, because in Japan there is of course a classification system for monsters? Moka transforms into a stronger more ass-kicking version of herself when the Rosary above her breast (this is what there narrator says) is taken off. Somehow only Tsukune can take it off. Now Tsukune wants to leave, but on the other hand hot babe.

Everyone loves the smell of Humans. Well at least in Yokai Academy, this leads to day two when a hot big boobed succubus with blue hair goes after Tsukune almost kills him, loses to Moko who transfroms to defeat, rather, rinse, repeat, the succubus Kurumu Kurono is part of Tsukune's harem.

Shortly after that the young witch Yukari falls for Moka, not Tsukune. This goes into some long boobie grabs. Eventually monsters attack and magics in the air. The adorable witch Yukari now loves Tsukune. This harem soon adds a Snow Women, with ice powers, in the perpetual lollipop licking, stalker Mizore Shirayuki. A more adult witch falls for Tsukune after another battle, the gothic Ruby Tojo. This battle with her was probably most insane and scary in the whole first season.

So if you haven't got it, hot girls who are monsters or monsters go after Tsukune Aono every episode. The battles are short and there's usually a lot of lead up. Attempted murder on campus seems to be fine as no charges are ever brought up by the school and though some of the monsters are way past the line they just appear in class the next day after trying to kill Tsukune with not even detention. It's a very silly monster school.

I have to say I like the girls with their different yet anime predictable personalities. Moka has both the nice girl and tough chick in her with her transformation. Kurumu Kurono is after Tsukune all the time with boobie rubs or any chance to rub her knockers all over him. Yukari is the little sister angle, but she's also got some lesbian action towards Moko, she's also kind of a brat. Mizore is the withdrawn girl whose shy. Ruby, Ruby is crazy, but in the second season develops more.

When they all fight for Tsukune it's comedy gold. This is a fan service anime with stories about peeping toms and the love of the student body for Moka. Though most stories have the same actions over again, many times I found myself laughing at the hi jinks of the high school characters and dirty ideas the prance through with a monster vibe.

Mermaids tricking other students into their club to eat their essence made no sense, because I'd think that get in trouble for killing another student, so maybe it's temporary. Then there just panty shots and a huge female body of students who all look fine.us

Towards the end of the first season it gets darker, which I don't like, just go with comedy and dirty humor, don't try and go dark. The Discipline Squad takes over the school...Wait, Discipline Squad, I just wrote about the Disciplinary Squad in Sekireis. I guess it's another common theme in anime like a classification system for everything. Anyway they start harassing the school clubs and Tsukune's harem is on the newspaper club so this leads to a fight that really had no place in the anime. The other problem is I couldn't take the main bad guy seriously in this arc, because it's the same voice actor from Excel Saga who voiced Lord Lplazzao.

The other problems is that sometimes the animation can be poor, I remember seeing a scene with CGI gravestones from a first person perspective that looked really ugly. Moka's transformation with bats looks awkward and some times looks bad when the bats are absorbed into her? It seems like one time they coated her as a bat suit around her and then after that the transformation became her absorbing bats. Yet, other times animation goes high like the fight with Ruby.

Nothing wrong with the audio with both Japanese and English dialogue, video was fine. Funimation likes a simple interface for the menu, but it has one fun little switch. When switching between menu's you change what Moka's wearing.

Even with these dark episodes it goes right back to fan service anime in the end and that's the way I want it. The melding of monsters and hot babes brings a fun series of high school hi jinks to anime fans. I got hooked on the characters and have to say enjoyed Season 2 even more, which I'll be reviewing shortly.

I am utterly confused by the new play coming out Saturday, January 21 @ 8:00 p.m at the Ford Amphitheatre. No Good Deed is a dark comedy about peforming good deeds and then paying for them, with super heroes and time travel. It sounds like a fun romp into someone's nerd fantasy, but I'm not entirely sold on it

So I heard you liked fan service. That should be the tag line for this series of blessed busty big chested babes fighting it out and flaunting it.

The second series takes places right after the first with the ever boring male lead who has a harem of hot girls wanting him for some insane reason. The city they're in is now locked down and MBI won't let any Sekirei's (fighters with special abilities on super human levels) and a Ashikabi's (Sekirei's masters that make them more powerful through a link established by a kiss) leave.

The Disciplinary Squad who works for the MBI in charge of keeping Sekireis in line and from escaping the city have it out for Musibi and the other Sekiries that Minato has. Minato is the boring male lead. The number of Sekiries (hot babes) swells with more editions to his harem including Kazehana who like drinking and has wind powers and Homura the white hared fire guardian of unprotected Sekireis whose been hiding in plain sight in their inn.

The stories aren't that hard to follow with small arcs and titillating jokes throughout the new series.
There's a small arc with another resident at the inn there staying, the buxom Uzume who likes wearing different cosplay outfits. and has cloth powers. Another story is arc is about Homura joining the harem. You get the back story about how sekireis were created and some missing info youv'e been waiting for since the first season. The overall arc is that all Sekirei's must win at least one fight to stay functioning in the city or be brought back to MBI. The last arc focuses on the MBI headquatertes needing to be infiltrated. This has all of Minato's harem in full force going downtown.

You also get a very steady build up to see some other Ashikabis and sekireis, which have a massive fight outside MBI headquarters in the last arc. What was kind of annoying was just showing a few of the new sekiries like these tan girls in bikini tops, that you never see really get into a fight. It was kind of a let down not to see and all out battle between them and Mianto's team.

Boobs in this series are large. Very, very large for the sake of the viewer. There's moments of just pure fan service for no othe reason than your pleasure. There's a mud wrestling fight, naughty plant tentacles, bath scenes, and clothes ripping. Let's not forget the special ova included on the extras disc with Sekirei Diagonstic Day , more like chance to see more boobs day. The fights themesleves are once again action filled boobs swaying all over the place. Some outfits are just the girls trying to look like prostitutes, prostitutes that want to be super heroes.

The only part I don't like is the excessive violence that leads to what looks like death .The anime seems all in good fun and then goes to far when a Sekirei gets stabbed in the the stomach. This happens only a few times, but breaks the mood of the series where most fights end with the opponent knocked out. The Sekirei Karasuba does the only dirty work that's lethal and I'm not sure if a sekirei can be killed by mortal wounds, but still it lowers down the fun.

Another stange part of the story is that Minato's Mom works for MBI and he didn't even know. How I hate Minato's lack of personality, he's just saw boring. I like his dad more, who is obviously the CEO of MBI, it wasn't that hard to figure out with his Mom working their. He's kid sister is also going around with her own Sekirei boy.

Once again, I don't know why these girls are into Minato Sahashi, your average Japanese bachelor about to enter college. It goes back to Tenchi Muyo and other harem comedies, where the main dude has nothing that special about him, but he has some fine ladies chasing after him. Super fine ladies that is. Just like Tenchi, he doesn't act on his male ambitions and seemingly goes nowhere with his harem who fawn over him.

The quality of audio and video was superb to enjoy the ladies of this anime. Extras include the OVA mentoned before( it comes with a hot springs visit too), textless opening and endings and commentary for episode 5.

Anime Hype: Goodbye Bandai

I'm sad to see one of the major anime companies in North America going. Anime Expo in LA will never be the same. Anime Los Angeles might be a little bit sadder this weekend, not just because of bad cosplay. You couldn't tell anything was going bad for Bandai last Summer as they showed The Disappearance of Haruhi Suzumiya multiple times and gave away free posters at their booth at AX . Ah- there booth won't be there this year.

It's tragic, I can say I enjoyed K-On!, Haruhi, Code Geass and the triumph that was Gurren Lagann. Even though they didn't create them, they got them here and on major networks. Even though Sci-Fi channel ruined Gurren with constant ads during the show. That mattered little when the box set came out from them.

I remember just a few years back Bandi being more active online and their site showing what DVD's boxes would look like. I wish that format and community and out reach to fans continued. I don't know why it stopped and it puzzles me. There website and store should have been updated a long time ago with more info and the abiltity to watch episodes or have a community.

I also remember a special Haruhi launch at Anime Jungle here in LA going down. With some other events like the Tekken Blood Vengeance showing and some sneaks of the Haruhi movie.

I think the gent directing the people in is my Banda press contact.

Looking for what went wrong, I've already stated I didn't get the 4 episode per DVD system which screwed fans out of money, especially when special editions came out where you could buy all the episodes together.

Secondly, it seems Bandai Japan screwed over Bandai Entertainment America by making them buy shows the already owned, which makes little sense being the same company. It reminds me of how Bandai Namco games here was destroyed a few years back for not doing well and I think all games are now made in Japan, none here. To be honest a lot of those games weren't great and retreads, but Bandai could have taken the time to making a good one , sitting down and trying harder.

I only assume, but it seems there was very little support from Bandai Japan just to make a connection to the company here, helping it in some way. I don't know why you want to strangle your market out here, but it seemed like the view England had with it's colonies.

What about Nichijou you ask , well it's rights go back up like in a month, and as I said Funimation likes holding news until the Summer, if they pick it up at all.

I'm sad to see another anime company go, there really only five now in North America. That means smaller distributors might pick up anime or they might not get picked up at all.

It's going to be a different AX this year.

Bad Morning Bandai

Bandai Entertainment announced this morning they won't be realising new titles on DVD and Blu-ray as well as manga. This news comes closely after there other announcement of their online store closing.

The worst part to me is what this means for Nichijou or translated Everyday Life. I loved this anime and Bandai bought the rights for American Distribution. Bandai says it's now cancelled, so that means another anime company needs to buy the rights or be the distributor while Bandai still holds the rights. It really means it could never be dubbed or come out stateside. I hope someone picks it up, but that probably won't happen until this summer at Anime Expo at the earliest.

I feel one of the main reasons might have been Bandai's strange model of keeping the 4 episode per DVD or Blu-ray habit instead of an entire season might helped it's downfall. Charging customers high rights for 4 episodes seemed unfair and other anime companies took note.

Other problems

-Website was hard to navigate, never updated

-Lack of support of Bandai Japan

-Lack of support of Bandai Namco, they just seemed to share the name. the two divisions seemed to know nothing about the other, which seems odd being both Bandai owned companies

Fan service! Fan service! Fan service! Funimation dolled out fan service this holiday season with enough jiggling, squeezing and naughty thoughts to launch a satellite of perversion powered by bloody noses into deep space on a quest to find alien panties.

That wouldn't be a far fetched idea for Heaven's Lost Property. I just gotta step back for a second and say "Angeloid!'. What's a Angeloid, if your thinking and Angel combined with a robot you win. Yes, the jokingly made up idea you've only seen though jokes in other animes and manga making fun of how bad girl dating sims can be is a real and fully functional (oh yeah) race.

One of them careens to earth and none other than a Japanese high school students comes to her rescue! Tomoki Sakurai who says all he wants is peace and quiet in his small town, saves the very enhanced (it has to be anime) Ikaros an angeloid. Now here's what different Tomoki is a real pervert, instead of your usual dead personality harem comedy, the main character is a dirty pervert. Ikaros on the other hand is an empty dim-witted doll. In reality she has some system locks keeping her from some social skills. It could be seen as cute her trying to attempt thing with such nativity.

Oh, did I forget that the robot angel has magical powers and that Tomoki can wish for whatever he wants. Time to run around naked and look at girls panties, why not feel-em up too? So unlike, maybe every other anime where a cute girl comes out of nowhere and says I'm yours, you finally have a pervert taking control. Don't expect any real hanky-panky, it's not hentai, but it's damn close.

Sohara Mitsuki, Tomoki's childhood friend might ~~bust~~ but in and the lower ranked angeloid Nymph, too. Sohara lives right next door to Tomoki and isn't to happy when a half naked girl with wings starts living with her crush. Nymph is another angeloid sent to retrieve Ikaros, but slowly starts to take liking to the small town and Tomoki. The both have different cute girl factors. Nymph is the pouty stubborn girl and Sohara is the high school sweet-hart. She has a mean karate-chop when Tomoki gets a bit to perverse, so he gets beaten like every day.

Tomoki has two other... well freak friends to deal with Mikako Satsukitane head of student council and a Yakuza's daughter. She has a penchant for causing more trouble and is more into Eishiro Sugata a white haired science chap who starts off every episode by going over exploration highlights. He's in charge of the New Discovery Club and wishes to learn more about the uknown world Nymph and Ikaros are from.

Now that you have the main cast let me go over the main plot, it's perversion. No matter what the other plot about learning more about Ikaros's past. Finding out what and who she is. Finding what the undiscovered world is or the weird visions inside Tomoki's head are, the whole series is about a pervert on a quest of debauchery a panties.

In the first episode Tomoki really gets naked, freezes time and goes around feeling up chicks and checking their panties. This is one of many perversions in the series. Sort of like a Ranma homage happens latter on. Tomoki transforms into a girl just to check out the girl's locker room and get close. In one of my favorite episode he makes every girls panties in school fly off like birds into a sunset. The ending credits show the panties flying off around the world spreading joy.

There's of course the bath house, festival, pool trip and club day episodes each with it's own perverse view. Each episode is fill with risky entertainment. There's one battle filled episode where Tomoki will have panties explode when he sees them. This gets even more out of hand when the panty robot shows up. Yes, there's a panty robot. A robot made out of panty's because a pervert has a magical angel robot.

Towards the end of the series the show get a little intense and there's some dark times which feel out of place in this harem/he is master comedy needs. As stated Ikaros is part robot and can do some insane stellar attacks, I'm talking gundam-esque power that gets shown. That element seems so unneeded.

Yet, for those action episodes you have silly episodes like an old women firing a gun at Tomoki to win a lot of yen during a festival that ends like a Japanese 70's crime drama with them all having tricked out vehicles. Or the episode where Tomoki's drowning as he creates a spin cycle in a pool to have bathing suits come off.

It looks like from the ending of the series Funimation got the rights for the second season, but nothing has been announced yet. I look forward to seeing more angel robots and panty adventures.

Paul Christoforo is a douche. Just read the following e-mails between him and a dissatisfied customer for the strange new controller add-on the N-Control. The uses of bro, wurd (spelled that way) and son, just priceless. A customer simply wanted to know when he was going to receive the items he paid for and Mr.Christoforo escalated it to an insane level of hilarity.

Eventually, over the course of a few days Mike Krahulik of Penny Arcade got involved and Paul just keeps going with some of the biggest posturing and bullshit out there. Why he would go to such levels is to be questioned and laughed at. He and his firm have been taking off N-Control marketing and possibly future products for just his incredibly childish and stupid actions
Why not just stop saying things, it's not like he even had to write back to the customer. It just goes to show, be honest with your customers, that's all. Why is that so hard, just say it will be late and please explain why.

The movie actually premiered way back at the Burbank Film Festival a few months back, here's my review. I would say the movie seems more like a stepping stone for director Kazuya Murata, sort of a "look what I can do" reel of work. It never felt much like in the spirit of Full Metal Alchemist as the story is more about a new character Julia and takes place before the end of the series.

Mustang could have just stayed at home for his part in the movie, like a dying ember or a matchstick.

Damn, right after a week long carnage and explosive Redline screenings you have another week filled with anime at the downtown independent. Damn it Sundance Cinemas, Laemmle's, and other independents, give the people of LA more anime.

Cameras Don't Work For LAPD

The LA Times has a great article bringing to light how pathetic the management of video cameras by the LAPD is. Apparently the six that are up in Little Tokyo were never even plugged in. Other problems include the equipment that controls the cameras being kept in a closet like room, so it overheats. Some cameras were given to the LAPD by the communities they were put in. This is some of the saddest newsI've ever heard due to laziness and stupidity. The LAPD could just fucking asked people for help, there's so many boring people with nothing better to than figure out computer problems in this city that would have loved to help out/

I can't believe in the capital of camera equipment the LAPD can't properly control a camera with a joystick.

LA Times also shows idiocy by the Sheriff's department with wrong arrests due to ID errors with people going to jail for having similar names to criminals.

I like this new anime called Sket Dance, that has nothing to do with dancing, but a trio of high school students that have to solve stupid high school problems. Apparently, it was underfire in it's manga form for the characters joking breathing in helium from ballons and doing silly voices. Parents got pissed? How many people have died of Helium in Japan, has this happened?

Star Wars Continuity Is How F*cking Complicated?

I just watched the Star Wars Holiday Special and it is one of the worst holiday specials in the history of mankind. If you can find it online, only watch it with friends... and have a board game handy.

While going through it's history, like who wrote it, (Pat Proft really?) online I found it's C-Canon, what the Hell is C-Canon? Well ,Star Wars continuity is so complex it has different types of continuity. Which is ridiculous. Wiki explains below. However, before getting to that you also have to realize someone's job is to just keep track of continuity at Lucas. He puts it all into a database called "The Holocron".

The Holocron is divided into 5 levels (in order of precedence): G-canon, T-canon, C-canon, S-canon, and N-canon.

G-canon is absolute canon; the movies (their most recent release), the scripts, the novelizations of the movies, the radio plays, and any statements by George Lucas himself. G-canon overrides the lower levels of canon when there is a contradiction. Within G-canon, many fans follow an unofficial progression of canonicity where the movies are the highest canon, followed by the scripts, the novelizations, and then the radio plays.

T-canon^[2] refers to the canon level comprising only the two television shows: Star Wars: The Clone Wars and the Star Wars live-action TV series. Its precedence over C-Level canon was confirmed by Chee.^[3]

C-canon is primarily composed of elements from the Expanded Universe including books, comics, and games bearing the label of Star Wars. Games and RPG sourcebooks are a special case; the stories and general background information are themselves fully C-canon, but the other elements such as character/item statistics and gameplay are, with few exceptions, N-canon.

S-canon is secondary canon; the story itself is considered non-continuity, but the non-contradicting elements are still a canon part of the Star Wars universe. This includes things like the online roleplaying game Star Wars: Galaxies and certain elements of a few N-canon stories.

N-canon is non-canon. "What-if" stories (such as stories published under the Star Wars: Infinities label), crossover appearances (such as the Star Wars character appearances in Soulcalibur IV), game statistics, and anything else directly contradicted by higher canon ends up here. N-canon is the only level that is not considered official canon by Lucasfilm. A significant amount of material that was previously C-canon was rendered N-canon by the release of Episodes I-III.

Mr Brainwash Crappy New Art Show Opens the 25th

The show will officially open on December 25th and run through the 29th.

Time to look at some crazy stuff like famous people and graffiti and other people's work mis-matched with consumerism. God damn, I hate Mr. Brainwash. A great hype man, who created profit on the most meaningless thing the only humans can enjoy "art".

The biggest load of crap from the show is that Mr.Brainwash is selling his art, but any other artist that puts up work in his gallery will have their work destroyed. Maybe Brainwash is going to shit on it or use it as fire kindling.

If his children died, I'd love it if the art community came together and did an art show about them dying. Just have different pieces on them. Sculptures of their father crying or using it to make money by going on Montel. Is Montel still on? Then ,Wendy then.

I'm sure it will be still cool to check out if your bored that day. If you see old man Brainwash, be sure to just stare at him, just stare at him. It won't affect him because he's a freak.

Twofor God's Country Must Be One Awful Movie

The publicist of John Atterberry, the former death row records executive killed by some crazy weirdo firing a gun near the Arclight Hollywood movie theater a few weeks back, died suddenly for no reason on route to Atterberry's funeral.

(Also, with so many film students so close by, why no better footage or insta doc online, maybe because LA Film School sucks)

The LAist article that tells us this story brings up some sort of movie called God's Country that the publicist Dugan was handling. Atterberry co-wrote and produced it. Was it so awful that the to had to die? I don't know I haven't seen a trailer, but with two men dead most likely. There deaths are quite strange at this point. Will there be a God's Country curse? Where everyone involved will die. If you see the film are you cursed?

Also, why has no comedian made a joke connecting Atterberry to a company called Death row records more like death road records or something else, just saying.

It just makes me think of the inventor of Bling water and why it couldn't have been him. If you're near someone who is drinking Bling water and a hostage situation goes down, use them as a meat shield. There drinking Bling water, they were a terrible person.

Same Sex First Kiss Costly

Anyway, the symbolism of there being more acceptance seems fake and lessened by the fact the female navy officer had to pay for tickets in a raffle to be the one doing this. Yeah, so you had to pay for tickets to be the first one to do it? Why not just kiss a girl in front of people? Each ticket was a dollar, so not that bad as a price. It's great that there a cute lesbian couple, but like what kind of stupid raffles do they have in the navy. LAist and even I have no real reason of putting this up other than the hot lesbians, it happened in Virgina. Just because the girls are from California, LAist? You just like hot lesbians.

Other points I'd like to bring up

-If it were two dudes there would be outrage.

-Did the raffle allow for the couple to be two dudes?

-The raffle was rigged so ugly people couldn't win

-What were the other prizes for the raffle?

-This prize seems kind of not worth it, because the Naval Officer could have just done it.

-Couldn't her girlfriend dress up like a nurse?

-Did the girlfriend fly all the way to Virgina for the kiss?

-It really doesn't match the picture

-From the pic the Naval officer is the top and the civilian is the bottom or she just really isn't that good at kissing.

-They seem quite in love...like the love between snails, just look at how they talk in the video, yeah that's love, love of the most boring and slow kind ever.

I kind of hate the new name, I like Treadways more. It's like calling these things Shoo 2000 or Shoe X.

So they changed the name, it used to be called Sint or Saint. Saint Nicholas and his pirate crew are back for vengeance. There undead and want the town's children. This scary movie from Belgium is like being transported back to the 80's. Director Dick Maas captures you with a freighting take on Belgium's strange Christmas traditions. The way people act and talk seems like they just stepped out of a John Hughes movie and into this one.

My favorite scene might be Santa riding a white horse on top of buildings as police try and shoot him down. It might be the scenes where Saint Nicholas' canes people to do death, but not by the way you think. It's ending will make relatively no sense what so ever.

Damn, holiday overload, just pick it up for the holidays, with the subtitles, the dubbed voices make me wanna hurl with holiday delight.
