The Disgusting Food Museum Heading To LA For The Holidays

all photos Anja Barte Telin

When you have some down time between good will toward your fellow man and or wo-man and hanging with family check out The Disgusting Food Museum. From the people behind The Museum of Failure comes a new learning experience...in horror. Though, since we live in LA, I wonder how hard it is to get some of these gross food items. Those duck eggs in Asian super markets gross me out.

The Disgusting Food Museum
December 9, 2018 to February 17, 2019
Wednesday – Friday: 2 pm – 8 pm
Saturday -Sunday: 12 pm – 7 pm
CLOSED – Mondays and Tuesdays
A+D Architecture and Design Museum
900 E 4th St, Los Angeles, CA 90013
General Admission (13+): $15 weekdays / $18 weekends

The museum will showcase a number of "food" exhibits that may make you want to hurl. Here;s some of them, though there's 80 in total:

·       Frog smoothies from Peru
·       Maggot cheese from Sardinia
·       The notoriously smelly fruit, the Durian, from Thailand
·       Surströmming, the infamous putrid sea herring dish from Sweden
·       Mouse Wine, drowned baby mice in rice wine from China

In the end, at the tasting bar, you might regret that you tried anything. Why? Why, wasn't this here for Halloween season?
